hopefully by gen 7, charging speeds will be so fast, & charging stalls will be as ubiquitous as gas stations the the Pri won't even have the expense of adding the ICE to it any longer !

Ha ! Lucky you ! Gas prices for most of this year in Nor Cal, have been close to $4 a gallon. Finally getting down to $3.60 'ish... Used to really suck in my Hyundai Accent, when I could not drive a full shift without having to fill it up... Yes, fill ups more often than once a day !
Now, even if I know its going to be a long, busy day, I have yet to run out a full tank in a single shift.

California fuel has always been exceptionally expensive. Just think how much higher it would be there if the national baseline were still up where it was 8-9 years ago.

I still pull 25-44 MPG out of our Accent; much more variable than our Prius. The Hyundai fueling costs are higher, but the maintenance is somewhat cheaper so far.

that was me. I still see less "hey, look at my new car" postings on the gen 4 page but maybe that's just me. I have also seen very few gen 4 2019+ Prii in Minnesota. Only one with awd on the road so far.

Don't see many 4th gen cabs here. The occasional one. I think gen 3 cabs outnumber gen 2 now. In private hands, think I'm seeing more primes than reg 4th gen now. The fools...:cry::ROFLMAO:

Meh, the Prius is not generally one of those cars someone would say 'hey, look at my new car' for. Moreover, I think we're seeing a shift in buyers from the folks who wanted recognized as being proud environmentalists (the "everybody should be like me" mentality that too many Californians use) to fiscally responsible folks who are just in it for the financial balance. Conservative-minded folks don't generally take part in 'look at me' activities.

I did see a 2019 Green one when I was up in Pennsylvania two weeks ago. Saw a 2019 silver one around here earlier this week. It just takes getting a look at the rear tail-lights to see if they are the ugly or sleek style to know right now, so that's kind of cool to be able to identify a 2019 so easily here in 2019.

Most of the private Gen 4s are LE AWD-e or FWD Technology AWD-e with or without Advanced Package. Taxis are LE FWD.

Just saw my first Technology FWD (XLE for Americans) a few months ago (it’s the only one with machined finished 15” alloys. No wheel covers).

Those tail lights look so much better than the refresh lights. I'm debating between the Prime and the AWD-e and the refreshed taillights are pushing me hard toward the Prime.

I'd suggest - forget appearance, but work out what car you want to drive. After all, you can't see it while you're enjoying driving.

So flip a coin - do you need AWD? or would a PRIME be better fiscally?

I'm considering the Limited Prime and the XLE AWD-e.

The Prime makes more sense for me for day to day use since I only drive around 20 miles a day so theoretically I can probably almost go electric 100% of the time and with the tax credit the price is actually lower than the AWD-e.

As for the AWD-e I live in the south so AWD isn't really necessary except for maybe one or two days a year so the only reason I want to get it is for road trips to more rural areas with unpaved roads or more snowy places.

I also like the AWD XLE because it's feature set is a bit more in line with what I'm looking for really the only things missing that I would like to have are the JBL stereo and Navigation. It has the smaller screen, manual driver's seat and no moonroof. The XLE Prime is almost the same as the Limited Prime but it comes with the big screen, and power seats which I don't really want. The only reason I'm looking at the Limited Prime is because of the HUD. If the XLE Prime had the same feature set as the AWD-e it would be a total no brainer.

Finally another reason I might end up with the AWD is because it is WAY easier to find in the Southeast. There are a bunch of them in the region while there are very few Primes.
