This gives insights to Elon's mind:

    • If a design is taking too long, the design is wrong.
    • Strive to delete parts and processes.
    • Are we in the future or not? If not, who cares?
    • Who is the Chief Engineer? It is me (Elon rjw).
    • Everyone is a Chief Engineer ... you don't have subsystem optimization.
    • Product errors reflect organization errors.
    • Question your constraints.

The first one of the list is a real important one. Many companies forget this one.

Does it mean the Tesla truck (the truck truck, not the cyberpunk blade runner thing) is a wrong design?

Between busting out the windows that were ostensibly not supposed to bust, and musk stammering, he did not seem very well prepared. I couldn't take it any more than 10 or 15 minutes before I head to turn it off. As far as looks, the truck can't hardly be for the majority of farmers pulling a 10000 lb horse/cattle trailer or a bunch of hay bales. But maybe I'm in the minority.

That looks to be some pretty low towing capacity. Works for some, but most around me are towing cars, sometimes 2 at a time. Bobcats, small tractors. Heck, my uncle and his son tied their trucks up to a combine and yanked it out of the mud. That's not going to be a truck that an actual truck user is going to be able to use. Those suburbanites to haul the trash - sure. lol

{edit} maybe I shouldn't say "pretty low" But "below average". That being said, most I know who use their trucks as a truck are driving 3/4 ton.

The ratings are right in line with the F150's, and it exceeds the Ford's payload ratings.

Oooh, I didn't see that. That's good news. half ton truck though... Around my neck of the woods the majority are 3/4 ton. But they seem to be work trucks - all beat up, scratched and hauling about anything you can get in the bed along with a trailer. Big Cummins town here too. Which you may know makes the diesel engines for Dodge & Nissan

    That's not a pick-up...that's a ?????

Seriously though...he'd better get some main stream corporations and utilities to use and sign-off on these machines as practical and cost efficient. Additionally, mpg and environmental concerns are not going to win over a largely ego driven PU crowd...whether they need a PU or not.
