toyota prius 4 year 2016, the engine starts running badly

    Goodmorning everyone. have you ever encountered this problem, at the start the engine runs badly at idle for 30 seconds then it turns back to normal, if you accelerate it turns the engine well but when it returns to the minimum already bad, it seems that it turns to three cylinders

    From the title, I'd say it a gen 4. Perhaps @giancarlo just needs to update his profile information.

    This sounds like what happens when a gen 2 or gen 3 gets shut off before it's warmed up. Next time you start it, it shakes and rattles like it's going to break. And it will eventually break if you keep doing that.

    I haven't heard of this happening yet with a gen 4, so @bisco's question about miles/kms is very pertinent. It may be that Toyota has not completely fixed the EGR clogging problem of the gen 3.

    I've had it happen a few times but not nearly that long, just a few short seconds. I did a throttle body clean and also put a few tanks of techron plus premium fuel and the issue seemed to go away, and I have about 7k on the odometer since I did that now at around 60,000 miles.
