Actually is embarrassing. so I got a copy of Techstream and a cable to connect. Everything kind of works. I've had the cable connected before and while not always easy to remove from the cars port it always came out without too much effort. This time it will simply not budge. Seems to be stuck tight. Car is a gen 3 2010. I don't see any kind of catch or release mechanism on the cables connector or the cars port. Tried to remove the black panel that partially hides the cars connector port by taking out 2 screws holding it in. Something else is holding it that I can't see. Anyone have the stuck port connector issue? What did you do to get it out? Are there latches that hold the connector in the port that I'm missing? I've pressed everywhere assessable. I've even tried prying with a screwdriver to no avail. Appreciate any help.

There's a notch that is on bottom side pointing toward the ground of the OBDII connection, you can push it up and pull the obdii connector away from the connection. I broke a couple cheap OBDII dongles' front clip by pulling it straight or slowly wiggling it even though I didn't care to push the clip on a previous car. At our prius meet ups, I always do the insert and unplug the OBDII dongle because I'm afriad who ever uses my OBDII techstream setup could crack their car's OBII connection if they straight pull it.

I've pried every which way. I've wiggled gently and not gently. I've pulled with all my strength. It's not budging. everythings been a no. Something is holding it in. Hoping someone had run into this and resolved it. Frustrated be I.

With some kinda of blade or screw driver tip? Just lever it up a bit at a time, one end then the other. The pins are shielded, no worries there.

Finally got it off. Suspect my mid 70's muscles may be sore tomorrow. Don't remember when I was that
contorted. . 98F1868A-199C-4F9C-9A16-D804705E7ED5-20317-00000AAE12EB0CE4.png Briefly occurred I might need wife or firemen to unwedge from the emergency brake pedal:)
IMG_5572.JPG Here's the culprit. That opening on the bottom slips over a small nub on the port. I'll be cutting off the small plastic bridge on the end that captures behind the port nub.

It's especially fun to lie with the middle of your spine on the door threshold. (y)

    Glad you got it!

Must be that time of year. I replaced mine a month or so ago. It wasn't too hard except that I had to go to the hardware store a second time to get an adapter for the drain line. I hate working on plumbing no matter whether it's under the sink or not! ;) But under the sink isn't nearly as bad as under the dash!!

It was from the same manufacturer so I just unhooked the dishwasher and drain.
Twisting the ring to detach it was a pain. The rest was easy, except for the position of laying
on the corner of the shelf.
And yes, a lot better than laying under the dash of any car! :)

I did a shower replacement a year or two back. There was a little bit of everything involved in that. Pretty much everything a first for me, learned a lot. I'm kinda thinking I might just coast from here on though, lol. But who knows.

Seems like now I'm old enough to know how to do most anything but not yet decrepit enough to say, "No!"
