2020 Prius Prime Limited, Titanium Glow w Moonstone interior
    Jones Toyota, Bel Air, MD

    MSRP $34793
    Discount $677
    Rebate $2000
    Adjusted Price $32116
    Doc Fee $300
    Tax $1326
    Non tax fees $274

    Total $34198

Tax is low because I had a trade that lowered the selling price, and the trade payoff was close to even so I just left those numbers out.

I test drove this car on Wednesday, and there were 46 miles on it, and the battery was fully charged. I told them that I would return to purchase this week, and our schedules meant that the next possible day for both me and salesman was today, Saturday. I was surprised to find that another 26 miles had been put on the car, and the battery was completely empty! Not too happy about that, but otherwise this was a good purchasing experience, and I would recommend this dealer to others. From what I could tell, this was the last non-grey or silver Limited in the immediate region, so I wanted to make sure I got it. Love the color (despite my wife and daughter both insisting that it looks pink!).

It seems like the dealer discounts have become non existent. Any increase in rebates from toyota were offset by this. I'm now double glad i got it when I did. Saved 1-2k over the current pricing people are trying to squeeze.

Just finished signing the paperwork and waiting for the keys on:

    2020 Prime XLE, titanium glow

$28,050 out the door after $2,000 Toyota incentive and $2,450 dealer discount. Kicker is the dealership has a rewards program where I racked up $1,060 in credit from previous service that went directly to the down payment, making it effectively $27,050.

My 2007 is officially going to be not mine in less than an hour. Here's to 200,000 miles in the new spaceship.

I feel the same. We apparently lucked out with purchase timing.

In NYC metro, all I was able to negotiate area was around $1,500 MSRP. A dealer in MA offered $2,800 off MSRP but they charge a $450 out of state registration fee, where they contract a third-party company to register car in your state before it can be delivered. Apparently now MA dealers need cars to be registered before you can take delivery. Also, NY metro rebates are $3,000 and New England's are $2,000.
There is also a New York State $1,100 Drive Clean Rebate but both dealer and buyer must be from NYS.

OTD on $29,227 MSRP was $26,514 after all rebates not including the tax credit.

    I think instead of

I think in my case that they gave me more of a dealer discount in the form of higher value for my trade. On their original offer, I said no thanks, I'll keep shopping, and shortly after that they sweetened the deal by offering me a big jump in trade value. In the end, the numbers were acceptable to me.

I believe this is a good quote because I'm also negotiating with dealerships in NY and getting similar quotes in your range. I would either pull the trigger now or wait until at the end of the month/year if they are more willing to discount more.

Thats a great deal! May I ask which city or even dealer? I got a similar one in oct in Sacto but your dealer discount was $100 better. Nice work!

Anyone knows if I can refi the car loan right away? San Diego Dealer asked me to keep it for 3-4 months before refi. Based on that I am pretty sure they dont have terms in the contract that requires me to keep it for 4 months. Correct?

Woburn Toyota via their "show today's best price" quote on the website and call to the sales floor. Shows as $850 dealer discount and then you ask for "the best price" and suddenly they found $1,600 more to knock off the total.

They do, of course, try to claw that back in the finance process via the usual add-ons and up-sells.

What's the deal with the document fee? I'm working with a dealer in Mass. who tacks on $495 after they give you the Costco member price. I'm planning to transfer the plates off my old Prius when I do the trade in. Can I just take care of the registration paperwork myself? In negotiating the price, what are advantages/disadvantages between getting the price of the vehicle reduced vs getting the trade-in value increased?

Though it may be legit, best to try the following.

If the total amount out the door isn't the same as what Costco gave you, then ask them if you need to call Costco 800 # to clarify.

If shenanigans, the sales person or finance jockey will back peddle rather quickly, apologies and all.

Same thing should apply if they try to include any theft devices, or other imposed and unwanted extras.

You might want to call Toyota finance department where you get the loan from. I called them awhile ago regarding to refi, they said I could refi anytime.

So Heritage Catonsville in Baltimore have jacked up their prices over $500 due to the number of inquiries coming in from Prius Chat. I would recommend staying away from them for now. A toyota Dealership in Buffalo, NY - Basil Toyota. was able to hook me and another user from here up. He gave us the price of $25,000 before tax, title, and license. Will be around 27-27.2k out the door for metallic gray XLEs. This amount includes $3k Toyota, $750 Uber, and $500 USAT discounts.

Ask for Mike Otwell and tell him that David Quimby sent you.
