Do I need to replace head unit or just extension box to downgrade Entune?

Everything that you access through the "Apps" button runs inside the Extension box. The Main unit and the extension box have separate software versions. You may have upgraded one box, and just need to upgrade the other.

I bought a junkyard 57011 unit with the extension box at the end of 2017. I used it to replace the 57010 unit in my 2013 Prius V two so I could get GPS. I do recall doing two separate software upgrades. The upgrade from 2.1 to 5.2 does sound familiar, but I can't remember what the other version was. Gracenote is ringing a bell in my head.

Someone posted it on this forum but the diagnostic screen on the radio is very easy to pull up:
- Switch the car to on or auxiliary, hold down the car button on the head unit and cycle the parking lights on and off 4 times rapidly.
- A diagnostic menu will pop up on your radio.
- Click on the function check / setting then vehicle signal and you can see your battery voltage.
- Click on the (software versions?), and the screen will display the SW version info of both boxes.​

I went out to check, and this is what I see on my working 57011:

Note that Bluetooth says "No Information". Bluetooth does work on this combined unit, so this is confusing. Perhaps this indicates a Bluetooth radio in the main box that is present in case the extension box is missing. The 57010 unit does not have an extension box, and my 57010 had Bluetooth connectivity. It is possible that Panasonic puts a Bluetooth radio in all main units, and disables the radio if an extension box is attached. I don't know what "DA" stands for, but the sticker on the top of main box is labeled as "Panasonic"

Note that there are two software versions listed. I remember that they were both separate upgrades. I think one was called "Gracenote", and the second was called something else.

You mention that the album art only updates on the first track. I don't use Bluetooth for music, but I don't think I have seen anything but generic album art appear on my 2013 Prius V's 57011 unit. I get album art on my 2017 Prius V's 570165 unit, even on HD radio. I think that is cool.
