2018 Prius Four Touring, purchased CPO used at 22k miles. Still going over the car, learning about it. Discovered 2 plugs behind the radiator/hood latch, one black, one white, not connected to adjacent plugs.

Thoughts? I'll be taking it to the dealer tomorrow (Wed) morning for 3 follow-up items.

Hmm...just checked my son's 2018 Prius Two. Identical plugs properly plugged in.
Hmm...now I want to know WHAT they're connected to, and WHY they were disconnected

I had a look at mine, and couldn't see anything like that, but mine is Australian 2016.

You say yours is a Four touring - his is a Two. It could be some gadgetry which isn't on yours but is on his. Has his got the same battery (Li-ION vs NiMH)?

What country are you in? Is your son in the same country?

    What's "CPO"?

Welcome, @pianewman. No idea what those plugs are, so I hope you'll let us know what the dealer says today. And I hope you enjoy your amazing "new" car. (y)

Also, this forum has people from all over the world, so giving locations that are abbreviated or using zip codes instead of city names is very confusing to lots of members. And even just giving the city name alone can be super-vague since there are often many cities with the same name. Usually, it doesn't matter where you live, but sometimes that's important info when people are trying to help steer someone to a solution like where to find parts & repairs or for climate conditions and the like. ;)

@alanclarkeau, DFW is Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. CPO, in this case, is "certified, pre-owned." As opposed to "chemical process operator" or "chief petty officer." :D

Thanks, Jerrymildred. I'll update my signature with a more specific location..

As I expected, the 2 plugs are for the radiator fan(s). I suppose I should be glad we didn't buy the car in 100f heat! Since I bought the car used, there's no way to tell how/when they were disconnected. I might have the dealership notate in my permanent record, just in case I have engine cooling issues when the ambient temps rise in May.

My son's Prius Two has the identical drivetrain to the Prius Four Touring.

Thanks for getting back to us. That's really wild that someone would unplug the radiator fans and leave them that way.
