New 2020 L ECO report...

    Driving rideshare here in Seattle....car had 4 miles when I bought it 8 weeks ago....now up to 13,000 miles....whew!

    So far averaging 80.65 mpg. This is the accurate mpg after using fuel receipts and GPS to correct for the 82.23 mpg the car's gauges would have me believe. (I am a LONG time hyper-miler, have set records along with my pal Wayne Gerdes)

    I drive very carefully and precisely....accelerate slowly, try to stay OFF the brakes, look WAY ahead to the next stop light, use momentum driving. I do alot of coasting in neutral. I rarely use "B" shift except down certain steeper hills to save the brakes. And many other subtle techniques such as lane positioning, uphill slowing at crown of hill, quick-park method, 5% slowdown strategy, etc etc.

    I use Mobil One 0W-16. Car has been perfect so far. I wish it had an audio system mute button on steering wheel. I wish it had a larger fuel tank. After each fill up, it says 725 miles to empty, one time after a great tank mpg, it said 762 miles.

    Car is Seaglass green. Here in WA there are few if any more L ECO's in dealer inventory. Rare model? Maybe production is low due to low gas prices?

    Anyway, love the car, the Japanese quality is amazing! When warm weather comes next June am hoping to average 86 mpg. In this cool weather I can only get 69 mpg on the freeway and 87.22 at slow city speeds where I spend the most time....

    Those are amazing mpg numbers, especially for ride share!

    Press and hold MODE to pause. (Including radio. It has AM/FM cache radio).

    Top speeds driven are critical. In my experience, if I never exceed 50, high readings like yours are attainable. When I head out to Nevada and set the cruise at 80-85, then low 40's are the rule.
    The dash display can tell what portion of your driving miles are on batter with the ICE at 0rpm. I would guess you are exceeding 50% of your miles on battery power.

    I bought the car to save gas money, but not to drive slowly. :cool:

    I get my best MPG when held up in traffic on the highways. Hitting 85 to 100 MPH makes it a 39.5 MPG day.
