I have got the dreaded P0A80 code on my 2010 prius. I ran a diagnostic and it shows that battery block 6 has 14.96v. All the rest of the blocks are 16.6v. Does this mean my hybrid battery is bad. Thank You in advance!

Yes you'll need to replace that battery. 2010 and 2011 batteries are pretty crappy, best not try to repair, just replace everything.

If you bought it in California you should have the extended CARB warranty on the battery, good for you 10yrs / 150K miles. If you're still within that the dealership will replace it at no cost to you.

yea? My pretty crappy battery is only 10 years old and NO problems.

2010prius2010: You have several options. You can replace the 2 bad cells, or but the whole
set new from newpriusbatteries.com and then have a new battery.
There are companies that rebuild them, but mostly they are used cells.

You could also purchase the Prolong battery charger/discharger to recondition the battery.
This may or may not work.
If you can do the work yourself, you save labor cost

Thank You for all the replies. Lucky for me i bought it 1 year ago and the previous owner had just replaced the battery on 10/2018 and it has a 3 year warranty from carquest auto. Battery is already out and the new one should be here by Wednesday. Thanks again everybody!

Well when your battery does fail, I would recommend you go with your advice and get a new battery from newpriusbatteries, because you definitely don't want to waste money on a prolong unit and try to rebuild that piece of crap

Wow, 10 years and 190+ thousand miles, what a piece of crap! I was expecting 50 years from a battery!

Oh I get it, your expectations are not quite as high as others I've seen around here. You're probably one of the normal ones

I am super happy with my 2010 Prius. It's a GREAT car! I have had ZERO problems with it.
Someday, I probably will. Nothing lasts forever.
Everyone seems to think Toyota should have a 20 year 500,000 bumper to bumper warranty.
Is it perfect? Certainly not. It's one of the easiest cars to work one.
    If someone doesn't like it,

You could always get a chevy volt....

Those have been discontinued by Chevy.
