Got my first red triangle today with a car ! light.
    What does car! light mean?
I ran Dr Prius app, nothing unusual, no codes.
I couldn't run Techstream clone due to lack of English instructions on loading.
I disconnected 12v battery running 12.5v, sanded down lead posts and reconnected, lights all gone. Could it be time for a new 12v battery? The previous owner said it is 1 yr old. Time for a new hybrid battery? PO said it was also replaced with reconditioned 1yr ago.
    Any insight appreciated

You have a Hybrid System problem.
Then Dr Prius is not capable or not installed properly. There are DTCs to be read.
Search the Internet. There are plenty of installation instructions in English.
In disconnecting the 12 V battery you have deleted any codes that were present. 12.5 V is not bad and certainly not a reason for problems. If anything, all you need to do is put that battery on a charger and charge it up.

Got Dr Prius to work, code P0A80 replace HV battery, possibly module 12 weak.
I'm sad because It's not worth replacing battery money wise, as exhaust will have to be replaced in next 2 yrs also.
Car keeps running , mostly without electrical motor assistance on acceleration.
No one works on Hybrid batteries here in the boonies, and I'm not confidant I can replace 1 module in balance with the rest.
I was hoping the replacement battery would have lasted 3yrs but got 1 yr out of it.

I have a lead on a 3yr old "new from Toyota replacement " HV battery pack.
If I replaced the whole pack would it need reprogramming to the ECU or is it just plug & play?

No, as long as the pack is good working order, just plug and play.
