    Hello again PriusChat,

Today I am looking to have my MFD serviced at myairbags.com for $199 + $18 shipping.

However, my question is does the car start and run normally with the multi-function display deattached from the dashboard while being serviced?

And If I decide to buy a used one does it have to match the part number on my current one?

For instance, mine is a 2004 with no Navi. Can I swap it out for say a 2007 with Navi?

Ok so I managed to disconnect the MFD and decided I will ship it to myairbags.com.

They have excellent customer support so far, located on the East Coast, and get great reviews. 1 year warranty, and state the following:

"We do more then just just repair the part. We go to the root of the problem and use new upgraded parts to ensure the issue does not return. Our service is 100% guaranteed or money back."

???.....Based on what? Perhaps you should refrain from providing misguided advice. It makes the situation more difficult and confusing for the poster asking questions.
