My 2007 has had a bunch of problems. The dash lights have been sporadic for a while now, but one day we found they stayed lit if we left a door cracked. Using this we modified the door close sensor to always read open and we thought our problem was fixed. Unfortunately it was not. Our battery started draining significantly quicker and so we installed a solar charger to keep it topped off but we still had to start it daily. Today all the lights flashed on the dash and I couldn’t get it to start. Any ideas?

Power button was also red after trying to start it turn off turn on the triangle disappeared but the gear shift and gas gauge started flashing. After another restart only one orange light is flashing then another and it wouldn’t even make a sound

This could mean almost anything. If it means the speedometer and instruments don't always illuminate, that's a cheap and relatively easy fix. If it means that the trouble alarm lights are coming on, then you need to read the codes.

    Ya think!!!?

Yup. You left the door open (or at least faked the car into thinking it was open). Ideal way to kill a 12V battery. Even if you turned off the dome light switch there's other stuff running until the doors are all closed.

You said dash lights are a relatively easy fix can you expand upon that I was quoted for $900 but that was awhile back.

Your modification caused a computer to be "active" all the time, draining the battery faster.
All your reported symptoms point to a 12 V battery going bad.
Get it tested.......and if they tell you it is OK, get it tested again.......or just replace it.

And then remove the modification that you made.

I’ve recently replaced the 12 v though could I just fix instrument cluster by soldering new resistor then remove mod?

Let me break it down for you in simpler terms, because you clearly don't get it and you're not listening to what people are saying.
    1. You made a modification
    2. Your battery started to discharge faster
    3. You don't understand why you had to jump start your 12V battery
      • What changed? YOUR MODIFICATION WAS INSTALLED
      • YOU NEED TO REMOVE YOUR MODIFICATION
    4. It was suggested you read the codes - you haven't done that
      • Reading the codes will help us help you, they will tell you what's wrong
    5. You attempted to fix a problem by trying to put a band-aid over one of the symptoms, and it made the problem WORSE
      • To fix your car, you need to remove the band-aid, and if that doesn't fix the issues, READ THE CODES
      • We will not and cannot help you if you do not get us the codes
    6. You need to start over from square one and do some troubleshooting, rather than shotgunning.
    7. And fix your shoddy grammar, and explain the problem better, because it sounds like you tricked the car into thinking the DOOR was open, rather than (what I pray is accurate) tricking the car into thinking the door was always closed by forcing the CIRCUIT to be always open.
    8. Maybe after you follow all of these steps you can get some useful information.

Wow. We're having a terrible time figuring out what you're trying to tell us. I have a bad feeling that you're in way over your head here. Job one, after removing the modification that's killing your 12V battery is to get the codes read. If you don't do that, it'll be cheaper to throw away the whole car than to keep guessing. Seriously.

There is no "then remove mod." Do that right now then come back and finish reading. First thing. Right away.

I won't go into any more detail about the combination meter (CM) until you take out the mods and come back with the trouble codes. Based on the things you've done and the way you're telling the story, I think you really need some experienced help. And before you do anything else after removing your modification that's killing the 12V battery, get the codes read like everyone is saying. That's job one. We can't stress that enough.

.. there's no codes, I will but not yet cause it's cold. I can just jump it and it'll start I'm fixing it monday. I'm gonna slap a new resister on the dash, and then it'll work and I can get the mod off since I'll be in the garage.

you have to jump it because the 12v is dead. why else would you need to jump it?

yes, you can just solder in a new resistor

Cause the system is draining it if it wasn't being drained all the time it might be alright?
