Many people on the Facebook Prius forum seem to think these are disposable and a pain in the neck and the car will be just fine without them, but Toyota put them on for a reason. I ordered a new set for my '12 Prius C. I realized yesterday that my car had them at one time and some one of the service providers for the car probably took them off to save time on oil changes.

Now I have to find out how they attach to the car. I'm hoping they have at least some metal screws vs all plastic rivets. These things could affect the cooling of the car as well as other things such as the aerodynamics, though I get wonderful gas mileage with the car.

The C splash guards don’t cover anywhere near the oil filter or drain plug. The only covers below the radiator area can be removed to change the fog lights and access that area.

Very interesting. I didn't realize that and I'm glad to hear that. I'll install them and leave them there.
I won't even have to fiddle around with them when I change my oil. Thank you.

Looks like metal screws holding it on. Do you happen to know the size of these screws?

I think many of the guys who throw them away have other Prius models and not the C and they don't want to deal with them when they change their oil.

My Hyundai Elantra had one and I kept it on but had to remove it to change the oil & filter.

Exactly. The regular Prius has a splash guard like that. I don’t know the screw sizes but if I find out I’ll post it.

I think they are 10mm heads. Not sure on length, if needed.

Yes the Gen3 liftback has a monstrosity of fasteners for the under engine panels.
When you go to change transaxle fluid, and engine oil, the "c" is best lol.

My dealership box cut off my Gen3 oil change flap, wasnt happy when I saw that,
but all in all whatever, I dont take it there anymore and I do it myself now.
I could have lived with the flap, but all good.

I seemed to luck out by choosing the Prius c.
The other models are great cars but they seem to have more issues. :)
