I’ll save you some time. No it won’t.

    Also,

Well guess my next car isn’t a Prius.

Probably going to make it semi-autonomous/heavily-connected to the point they consider it becomes accident free. Might be the tip of the spear on AI usage in cars. I’m even thinking the Prime part will go away.

Prius is the platform for cutting edge hybrid technology. At the very least, it should be the next gen PHEV when it gets released. I assume things like solar panels to recharge will show up but what else is there to showcase the brand aside from full EV? Connectivity I guess?

Hybrid still has a place - but whether PRIUS is still as relevant as it was 20, 10, 3 years ago - I wonder.

The other things to consider are - what are they doing with the ICE? Maybe there is more efficiency they're working on. Also there are continual improvements in battery technology promised, and one they're hoping to crack is lighter weight.

Clearly a "Hold my beer" moment at Toyota.

I was concerned that the Prius had too few fins and LED light strips.

Ceramic exhaust valves and seats for a higher exhaust temperature. Move the Otto cycle towards diesel. Let the Carnot cycle move towards ultra lean, high thermal heat engines.

The only problem is it still won’t match my Model 3.

    Depends on market.
The majority of hydrogen for the US comes from natural gas. Though California mandates 30% needs to be renewable, which is usually electrolysis with renewable electricity.
Japan will be making theirs from Australian brown coal.

And how many kw of energy do you have to input for electrolysis for lets say 1 galon of hydrogen?

in case that's not a rhetorical question . . . it takes conservatively 3X the amount of energy to do electrolysis as it would if the same energy was put into battery storage & run in a vehicle - last time folks posted.

Especially with higher & higher ratios of EV owners installing PV - as well as municipal power going to PV & wind.
    Now . . .
on to the topic of (subjective) "looks" for Toyota's latest hydrogen car. as john points out - especially considering the original body? It's subsequent "looks" can do no harm.
    ;)

Could I get four, custom cinder blocks while waiting for the hydrogen fueling gas station?
