Hi all. So got techstream up and running in a boot camped mac. Connected to car etc.

This was all brought about by replacing the clock spring in my 11 prius. Continued error light (traction control error on left, the squiggly tire track one) led me to believe i needed to zero the steering wheel position sensor on the clock spring.

Info here led me to open up techstream, try to reset the memory in the vsc/abs/vtrac computer. Tried that, error message still persists. Further info suggested entering "test mode" to reset all those sensors etc.

I did that, abs light and steering wheel light flashed as per instructions, but now have a bunch more errors that we're never on before.

For some reason abs error, steering wheel error, and parking brake warning light (says "brake") are lit.

Now im supposed to be leaving for work, but obviously would love to deal with this prior if anyone has ideas. Thanks

As long as you've got Techstream there, what are the trouble codes behind those lights, by the way?

The C1345 is easy to deal with. I'm not so familiar with C1231; you'll probably want to review the troubleshooting steps for it in the repair manual (more info).

Yes. Fixed that. Still having my steering issue but ordered ANOTHER clock spring.

Since I've got you, what needs to be done in techstream to replace the clock spring?

I don't think anything is needed in Techstream to replace the clockspring. You unplug the old one and plug in the new one.

Now, I think there is a steering angle sensor that's integrated with the clockspring, and the new ones have some kind of break-off pin or other arrangement to make sure it's on center when you install it. If I remember right. Perhaps worst case, if that doesn't happen right, an ECU will say "hmm, is your steering sensor zeroed?" and there might be a utility in Techstream for that if needed, but it's not something I've done.

So. In the end there was a "piston reset" function in techstream, that reset the abs and made that a ok.

Im still dealing with the slip indicator light, and started a new thread for that
