I have a 2014 Toyota prius every so.often the engine management light the triangle and traction light comes on.
2 weeks ago the light came on with the same code but replace hybrid assembly.
So I taken the battery out checked all cell individually. They were all reading between 7.0-7.4... but did see the buster bars corroded. Which I've cleaned up and put back together.

Last night whilst driving the light came back on but now its giving the same code but undocumented code.
Has anyone has had this code before?? Or anyone knows what this code actually means? I've checked on line but nothing comes up.

Check if your car’s hybrid warranty is still effective, if so that code means you hit the hybrid battery lotto.

There is almost always a subcode registered along with P0A80. What's your subcode?

Well, the OP already has the code, P0A80. The only issue is that particular tool doesn't have the one-liner fortune cookie for that code programmed in, so it says "undocumented code" instead. But that's no big deal, because in general you don't want to make repair decisions based on the one-liner fortune cookie programmed into your scan tool anyway.

As for the P0A80 code, it's well documented. There's a workup section a few pages long for it in the Repair Manual (more info), and it gets discussed endlessly on PriusChat. I'm not even sure how to check online and have nothing come up. Are you sure the zeros were zeros, not ohs?

I bet you'd get some results even with ohs.

Techstream will still be useful, not because you need it to get the code, but you can use it to get other measurements that will help plan what to do.

    Meh, not terrible;).

    It isn't a problem until it's greater than 1.2 volts:cool:.

Then it's time to option sort(y).

It's got 110.000 miles on it. Taken it to toyota dealer who can find a fault with the car.
Now when I clear the codes and it's running on hybrid that's when it jerks like mad. The light appears but then just the engine runs and then I don't get any jerking at all. So its summa to do with the hybrid system but no idea where you start off from??
    Anyone else experienced this before?

it doesn't make sense that you got the bad battery code with your scanner, and toyota gets nothing.

was there any corossion inside the battery case or wiring harness pins?

The 7.0 to 7.4 spread is not the problem. The 7.0 is a problem. NO NiMH module in a battery pack should ever be that low. A healthy, 6 cell module will always be above 7.2 volts unless it has been almost completely discharged. Even then, it will try to "bounce back" to the 7.2 range.

Even 7.4 is pretty low for a battery pack that has recently been removed from a car for testing. I have core packs that have been in the shop over a year that still show 7.6 or better on module voltages.
