I purchased what I thought was a level 1 evse as described below. I received a level 2 charger with the same specifications. It failed when I plugged it into a 110v plug (almost immediate fault) but also failed when plugged into my new 220v plug using a new Rob43 adapter. It seemed to be working great, then indicated a fault within about 5 minutes. The car message said that charging had stopped, check the charger. Has anyone used one of these Walmart evse? Is there any hope, or should I just replace it with a better one?

Level 1 Electric Car EV Charger (110V-240V 16A), IP54 Waterproof Rating, 30' Cord and Heavy Duty Electric Cable Plug Adapter, SAE J1772-EVSE UL Recognized

If it faults return it and get another, there are lots of oddball homemade contraptions on Wish and EBay that aren’t worth messing with

Oh an Walmart’s website is just an e-commerce site that anyone can sell through, if you try in store pickup and can’t it’s some 3rd party reseller.

walmart is just horing out its IP

I owned that exact EVSE last summer & it failed on me within seconds of plugging it in.

Avoid that design at all costs.

Your best option would be to use your Rob43 adapter with your Toyota OE EVSE unit, your charging time will be about 2:28 minutes.

Thank you, I won’t waste any more time or energy trying to get it to work. The Toyota charging unit works great with the new plug you provided.

    Thanks, Maureen

Thank you for the kind words !

When you compare your Toyota OE EVSE to any of the chinese clone EVSE units, there really is no comparison. The build quality of the Toyota EVSE is outstanding, then when you give it 240 volts like you did, it really shines because your charging time drops below 2 1/2 hours.
