I have the connected services app for my 2019 Avalon where I can lock the doors/open and start the car remotely from my phone or watch.

Can I hook my new 2020 Prime XLE up with the same service?

    Thanks

No. They removed that ability in the 2020 model.

Nop. Only remote service you get on XLE and Limited are Safety Connect. Nothing else. If you get LE, in addition to Safety Connect, you can also get WiFi Connect.

Thanks Salamander - weird that they would give the LE that option but not the higher models.

    Appreciate the info.

My guess is it so they can sell the Scout Nav app to LE owners.

The Scout GPS Link app was free for my Android phone. I was wondering what the catch, but at first glance, it was not loaded with ads on the map screen.

But how much data will it use?

Yeah, but most people are going to use their own phone data plan. The Toyota site has no information on the WiFi Connect plan. The first 2GB/6mo is complementary. I have no idea how much it will cost from Verizon after than. If it is unreasonably expensive, I am actually thinking of declining the Safty Connect authorization to opt-out from the connected service. If I do that telematics will be off, which means I will not be able to use WiFi Connect.

It’s free for the first 3 years.

    After 3 years, how much?

Edit: I looked it up. $24.99/yr subscription fee after 3 years complimentary period.
How much does Scout® GPS Link cost?

The real catch from comments here is that it sucks.

Yeah, if I have to pay for the service, it hurts. I did install the app on my phone, but I am very likely to buy another Garmin GPS for my car.
