Any videos of Primes being made ? I did find a video of a regular Prius being built .....

    I had searched for any youtube videos of Prius Primes being made at the factory in Japan, so far the closest I could find was one of a regular Prius being made and it was over 2 years old.

    It would be neat IF the Prime factory had live web cams so those of us who ordered a Prime could watch and wonder which of the Primes going thru the assembly line might be ours ! :LOL:

    Just a regular Prius and not a Prime but still very neat to watch though !

    I have watched many, also can find the Mirai vids.

    I love the hand checks they signal to the car when completing a process.
    That is my favs :D

    Prime assembly would be very similar. Love watching these btw.

    These 3 bolts, if they're siimilar to 3rd gen, I'd recommend for any new owner, immediately remove and oil-soak them (or fluid film, similar product). Shoot some into the holes too.

    No problem, any informative videos appreciated ! It's a long video so I just glanced thru a few spots to get an idea of it.

    Not sure if the average owner would do any battery work, but it is pretty interesting to see what the inside looks like !

    So I saw where the person said the battery would be about 270 lbs, not too bad for what it does, I wonder if a battery to go twice as far in EV mode would weigh twice as much and be twice as big ? Could be part of the reason why they chose to make it the size they did.

    Also a very interesting video, learned a few things including separate coolant for the engine and hybrid, it doesn't use any belts, how well much of the underneath is covered, and some other interesting things.

    It did make me think of a question though when he was saying how HV mode gets you about 54mpg and auto mode gets you about 133mpge, is there a reason why you would choose HV mode over auto mode when HV mode gets you less mpg ? (it's likely a simply answer, but I'm still learning :LOL:)

    Not silly at all. In fact, it's pretty deep and there's not a real clear answer. I never use EV Auto because I like to make the decision on when to run the ICE. And, apparently you need to warm up the ICE first for it to work right because the times I've tried it, I could mash the pedal to the metal in EV Auto and the Ice would not start. So I figured, it would't do me much good. On my next long trip (over 100 miles) I might try it again with a warm engine. But around here, it's so flat, that I don't think it'll do me any good. There have been several discussions around here about the pros & cons of EV Auto.

    Thanks, I'll have to research pros and cons more and see if it would make any real difference for the areas we would normally drive.
