I know this has been asked before. I may have asked this before. So if someone can point me to previous discussions on this thank you. My question is did the Corolla Hybrid replace the Prius C? I own a Prius C but looking for a replacement. Thanks.

Depends on how you look at it. The all-new 2020 Yaris hatchback is its replacement if you want a car the same size with the same general features, excluding hybrid powerplant.

Corolla hybrid is its replacement if you want the smallest available Toyota with a hybrid powerplant. It's considerably bigger than the c.

Neither is a particularly good match. There is a chance we'll get the Yaris hatchback with the new 4th generation hybrid powertrain in the future, but not today.

Technically no. But in America, it might as well be since the Corolla is the cheapest Toyota hybrid. It is a bit more expensive but good value given the additional equipment over a Prius c. (The c One was really barebones). It’s also one class larger.

What I don't get about the Yaris/Mazda 2 is the sedan comes in L/Stick but the hatchback does not. Why is this?

Hard enough to sell the stick. You gotta figure anyone who is desperate enough to get a manual these days is not going to quibble about much else.

I agree but you think a stick hatch would sell better then stick sedan! What about the L trim? Thanks.

Yeah but sales are so low that "better" sales doesn't mean crap.

Instead, the decision gets made by whichever is cheaper/easier to produce.

The Corolla hybrid is basically a Gen4 Prius without the hatch and the body style.

If you mean which one saves more money? Yaris all the way. Costs less to buy, less to repair, less to insure and only a little more in fuel. Gas prices are very low right now, and they probably will be for a few years.

Actually it more likely is which one has the higher profit margin.

For YOU......the only person who can answer that is......YOU.
Because it depends on what you will be happy with.
Without looking, I'm pretty sure that based only on purchase price, the Yaris wins.
Or maybe the Corolla Sport hatchback.

    LOL

True, I have a 2012 first year Toyota Prius C. I am original owner. 117,111 miles no major issues. Only thing is it tends to burn driving lights out alot. Best daily driver i have owened.

    Now back at square one.
