I get my rice from the Chinese take-out. The beetles are already cooked.

The hoarders must be running out of money or garage space in my town.
I drove by our local grocery store on my way to work this morning and it looked..........normal.

    No lines.
    Lots of available parking.

The store I work at is at 85% stock now. Still spot shortages, but waaaay better than we expected a week ago. Taking three days off in a row to recover from the flood of spray-on hand sanitizer that has flooded my body. I have allergies enough already and all these chemicals are making those worse. I stopped in today to get some fruit and corn chips. There were no lines outside; still not very busy in general since almost everybody has enough food in their house to last a month.

However, the roads are flooded with cars, as much as a normal day, if not more. What's up with that?

I'm always puzzled that on weekday afternoons if I have to run an errand or have a day off, the roads are packed. And I wonder what jobs these people have that, from the looks of things, no one is at work. They're all out driving around making traffic jams at 2:30 PM. So now, we actually have lots of people who aren't supposed to be at work. I expect they're out driving around, too.

Just checked the traffic cams and the roads are very light with drivers.

The Seattle region traffic flow maps, which would show plenty of red and black during regular commute hours in normal years, is almost entirely green with just a few yellows this week and late last week.

Traffic is REAL thin here, but we are on essential services only lock down in my County. Wife gets to work from home. Me, I'm essential...even have my "travel papers". Grocery stores are getting a little better, but bread, eggs, meats, sanitation/cleaning products and butt wipe are still all about timing. Working graveyard REALLY sucks now (other than for the obvious reasons) because even Walmart and 7-11 close a night. Still, it's better than getting sick...or worse.

One benefit...I'm getting more at home. ;)

A lot of people have never experienced cabin fever before. I'm sure they are just trying to deal.

OK, my sample size is small.
I've been staying in as much as possible.
Maybe every 3-4 days, making a run to pick up whatever needed groceries I need, or can get. Well, especially cat food. I can starve, but the cat has to live.
I would say disappointingly things seem to be getting worse.
The supermarket still had no paper goods...period. No disinfectant or sanitation products, but more frighteningly EVERYTHING seemed somewhat depleted. Definitely not a wealth of choices or abundance.
I hope things level out soon. Allowing the supply/stock of things to increase.

    PS.
This grocery store also had a "new" policy in place where if you brought in re-useable bags, they would NOT bag your groceries. You had to bag them yourselves. All cashiers, employees wearing latex gloves.

    Strange times.
