CDN 2020 Prius Spare Tire?

    Here's an excerpt from the Toyota Canada Prius brochure:

    Does the base level have a temporary spare? Why do they make no mention of it?

    For comparison, US 2020 Prius brochure:

    Yup, only the Prius Technology FWD has a tyre repair kit and only the base has a temporary spare.

    AWD-e models have the same space as the FWD w/ spare as that's where the AWD motor goes. I added a screenshot from the Tokyo Motor Show Release as a refresher.

    Note that AWD-e models have the same sized luggage compartment as the FWD with spare tyre.

    The Smart Key system (touch to unlock) is available on Driver's-Door-Only, on both the US and CDN base Prius, if I'm not mistaken? Interesting that they make no mention of it? It's always struck me as punitive, that the base doesn't get 3-door (two front doors and the hatch) Smart Key.

    Somewhat similar to the spare tire description, I wonder why they make no mention of Driver's-Door-Only Smart Key? Perhaps they don't want to draw attention, to something somewhat negative.

    It reminds me of an advert I would walk by on the way to work, in a greasy spoon breakfast place's window. Paraphrasing a little, it went something like this:

    Bacon, Hash Browns and one Egg: $4.99

    I think it would sound much better thus:

    Bacon, Hash Browns and Egg: $4.99

    Auto marketing guys have a tough time advertising all the various options, especially since every manufacturer adds/deletes during every production run. To avoid customers claims re: deleted options, it's probably best to just leave them off the sheet entirely.

    I'm rarely sympathetic with car salesmen, but I'd say it's virtually impossible to maintain a mental list of which models have which options.

    IMHO, of course.

    I find the younger generation is less interested in the details. Also, there is a laundry list of standard features now. That being said, if we're not printing and only posting information online, I don't see why the "specification" section couldn't be detailed and just have the brochure show the "most popular" features that people are looking for.

    As for 1-dr SKS, at least there's SKS. Other companies still charge for proximity entry/keyless start and their standard is remote keyless entry with key-in ignition.

    I noticed this gaff on the Toyota Canada website:

    They're saying all levels come with Temp Spare AND Tire Repair Kit? I emailed Toyota Canada, included a screen-grab and a link to the page, and their response was that "the information on the website is correct". o_O
