There is but one truth, and it has to be approved by management.

I'm reminded of the time when I was working for a large aerospace company and they got wind of some federal inspection people about to arrive. A company memo went out that we should all cooperate fully with any inspectors, and direct them to our public relations department. In other words, stonewall the inspectors. I never did hear even what the issue was, let alone the reality. But we were prepped...

I will read the 63 pages prior to this page, soon. What I am saying has probably been said several times in recent days / weeks.

The coronavirus is transmitted by fomites (objects that transmit infection). These can include your shoes, your clothing, but also your car keys / keyring, and cash cards or credit cards, but also any time you interact with 'public objects', such as credit card 'PIN entry' machines ('ENTER' is pressed by everyone!), and also all petrol / gas pumps, or electric vehicle charging stations, etc.

The coronavirus is also transmitted by coughs and sneezes (this is where the 2 metre / 6-7 foot social - distancing rule comes from). If you have symptoms, please stay at home. Also in public, for vital, essential-to-life activities in public, please keep 6-24 feet way from others!

The latest evidence (in the western world), which is in keeping with evidence from China in the first half of January 2020, the novel coronavirus / covid19 / covid-19 / nCoV / SARS-nCoV-2 virus has been shown to be airborne. In China, HK, this was shown conclusively in early Jan 2020. In the western world, it is just being shown. However, there was a recent meeting of 60 choir singers. 59 of them were neg for coronavirus. They had hand sanitizer on entry, and also on exit. They brought their lyrics printouts with them. They shared no objects or fomites. They met for 2.5 hours, they did full social distancing techniques (standing far apart). After 2.5 hours, 45/60 (3/4) were covid pozitive. This shows how infectious it is. Early WHO investigations with the Chinese government showed that the 'asymptomatic' and 'very minor symptoms' groups were rare.

This virus is extremely, ridiculously infectious. It may also be fairly deadly, even to young, healthy people. Please stay home, please use DIY masks when going for occasional shopping to supermarket (and buy in bulk, according to their guidelines, to reduce outdoor trips).

If we all self-isolate, and stop the spread of infection, the limited tests in our countries (or US states) will not be overwhelmed. Also the covid will transmit more slowly, and allow all of us to have ventilators if we need.

I am not trying to lecture others; I am a doctor of medicine, I am young (ish!!!), but have several lung conditions, making me a high risk patient. If we all work together, we will get through this! :)

(I will now go looking for NWH11 inverter fuel pumps for the $700 Prius I purchased right before the coronavirus decided to enter all our lives!)

Keep well, all on Priuschat, and also everyone everywhere!

A former NHW11 owner, the fuel pump is separate from the coolant pump. A failed fuel pump will brick the car. A failed inverter coolant pump can brick the car by damaging the inverter. I no longer own our former NHW11 and the maintenance manuals. So rather than use my memory, I'll defer to the experts in the Gen-1 forum.

    Regardless, GOOD LUCK!

@landspeed, I think you've made first mention of fomites, so there's that.

No, nothing I've seen about the Roosevelt crew says anything about their symptoms. Do they know they're sick because they have a bad case of the flu, or because people in white coats told them they were sick?

What percentage of those identified as sick are actually showing symptoms? How does this compare to an ordinary number of cases of flu/colds?

Do they ever test vitamin D levels? GrassRootsHealth has data that people with greater than 50 ng/ml blood level get 40 odd percent fewer cases of flu than those with levels below 20 ng/ml. Wild guess that the crew averages about 25 ng/ml, which would mean that quite a few are way below optimum.

Personally, I currently take 20,000 IU D3 daily, but recommend that anyone going over 10,000 should do blood testing for both D and calcium. If Costco or Walmart have any 5,000 IU bottles left, it would probably help to take some. If they don't have any left, there's a message there...

This needs to be put in perspective.
First this study wasn't done on the corona virus (probably doesn't matter)
The 6 ft guideline came from the expected distance that a cough/sneeze could project a droplet large enough to be infectious.
    This study allows smaller droplets.
There is likely an inverse relationship to droplet volume, distance, etc with potency.
So while a very forceful cough might project a detectable droplet 27', it may not be large enough to infect you.
Still a good idea to stay more than 6' away, especially if the person is coughing/sneezing.
A non-approved face mask probably helps as well.

Not the Sun, but through binoculars, I showed my wife the Smiley Face, comprised by the rising southeast conjunction of Jupiter, Mars & crescent Moon, last week. This week, in a spotting scope, I showed her a cool very thin crescent Moon, dropping in the western sky.

Of ccp coronavirus victims in NY state, 391 have died IN THE PAST DAY, about 9% of total U.S. deaths, so far. Total U.S. death-rates had been descending below 2% (~1.7 to 1.8%). Presently, U.S. ccp coronavirus death-rates are rising, now to 2.2%. Global ccp coronavirus deaths-rates had been dropping well below 5%. Rises in the past week, now show global death-rates up to 5%.

The plea from the captain of the mother ship sound much dire than you prescribe.

“We are not at war. Sailors do not need to die. If we do not act now, we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted assets – our sailors.” USS Roosevelt CO calls for evacuation of coronavirus-hit ship
