A TV news piece just showed examples of how these wipes clog the equipment, and the problems have become worse during this disease outbreak:

Flushed 'wipes' causing increase in clogged sewers during coronavirus outbreak | king5.com

Apparently our state recently adopted a new law requiring these "flushable" wipes that don't pass certain tests to carry a prominent "Do No Flush" label and symbol by 2022.

Out here one of the mayors is using the terminology "physical distancing":).

That's actually what we are doing as we are not trying to socially distance ourselves;).

So I've started to use that as we still need to be social, just at a physical distance(y).

Maybe just McGiver with what you've got around the house, as long as possible.

27’ is enough but at this point why bother?

ah well game over, time to wear bunny suits and o2 tanks

Recent clickbait says the deadliest thing you will do is fill at a gas pump, doctor’s have had to go to emergency midnight meetings on the danger of gas pump handles after all

What a difference a continent makes. Yesterday, a friend posted a video on Facebook from his dash-cam showing a nearly deserted freeway in downtown Los Angeles. There might have been 6-8 cars in view. Yet, this afternoon on my way back from an errand 17 miles away, the highway here was virtually bumper to bumper and going 10-20 mph under the limit due to congestion. But, as they say, this is God's drive-up window here.

Things have really turned around in my area. I stopped at Kroger on the way home after work - one would never have known any shortages were an issue elsewhere. I literally only seen one thing missing - flour. Even the paper product shelves were for the most part full.

We're not that big of a town however so maybe people have finally just gotten enough of what they thought they needed. Those of you in the metropolitan areas will probably suffer for awhile???

Here it seems to depend on the store. Crest Foods is local with 9 locations in 3 counties and are open 24x7. They hired an extra 200 people just to stock and they seem to be keeping up with the sales. The Walmart Neighborhood market across the street from Crest is "almost" as good. Sam's, Costco,Target, Homeland, Whole Foods, and the mega Walmarts can't seem to keep up. I like the 24x7 stores because I can go VERY early and get what we need with minimal contact.

Well, we've just had our first business casualty. The regular market in town iI referred to is closing down for good Thursday or Friday. The owners of the market said it's just not worth the trouble of opening the place again when things ease up. The town council is already scrambling, begging someone to open up here.

Things may have gotten better on the other side of the river but I won't know until next week. My doctor wants some blood work done unrelated to the virus. I'm out of the yeast for making our own bread, decaf coffee for one daughter and out of chicken. Since the lab is over there I'll hit Smith's or Safeway on the way back.

I'll have to take a look when I shop there again. Right now I'm focusing on going to as few places as possible so I'll pay a little more and get it from whatever grocery store I hit.

How big is the package at Sam's?

I do not see it online but it is a lot less expensive. We usually keep a jar of yeast in the refrigerator and freeze the rest.

Amazon shows quite a few varieties of dry yeast in bulk size up to 2 lbs. Availability varies and time for delivery may differ, but you can still get them.

The 27 feet is about the distance any sneeze or cough can go. Is it enough to get an infectious dose of a pathogen that far? Depends on the pathogen. Flushing without a lid on the toilet scatters coliforms throughout the room, and someone with food poisoning likely has used a public restroom. Yet massive, cruiseline level outbreaks aren't happening everywhere.

Coronavirus surviving for hours in the hour is what raises the risk of catching it than how far a sick person expels it out.
