Only listing possible therapeutics, not giving recos.

If people are willing to drink chlorine bleach, heartworm chewies would be unsurprising. But I think you need to throw it in the air, jump up and mouth catch. That's how it works for dogs, so if we are going to get all cargo-culty...

    Gompertz modeling highlights today:

Italy gets into the tail. It's a fat tail. Final case totals projected around 180 thousand.
Spain has peaked, and may have final case totals around 250 thousand.
Germany is next large player to soon let us say past peak. Hoping total around 190 thousand.
Many smaller countries are expected to hit inflection points this week.

US' expected inflection point got pushed back. Driven by new states having sharp increases I suppose. Final case total projection now ~1.2 million.

Worst news of day may be that France' latest daily new cases blew their model up.

    France blows up.png

It is recoverable, if they have new daily case totals that are less ballistic, later. A week could bring this back down.

In China, I have not seen that new reporting of asymptomatic cases has changed ncov.dxy products.

I just gave simplest example I was familiar with of an after PCRing test. If I just hand waved a then the it is tested for the target DNA, I might as well hand waved the entire PCR description.;)
I could have gone on about pulse field electropherosis, or the ultracentrifugation method we used for GMOed plasmids as other examples of seperating target DNA out from the junk.

Don't give it to your collie. They have a holy blood-brain barrier in regards to that.

France was not adding case counts and deaths from nursing homes to the official total. The French government is in the process of collecting that data, and started reporting that April 2 and 3. The nursing home counts are attributed to the dates that the government received those reports rather than when the counts actually happened.

If you are downplaying the current threat of COVID-19 because the number of weekly pneumonia death in the US is very high (above 3,000/week most of the time), then you may be misleading the truth. The number of death graphed are reported death for ALL cases of pneumonia, which is an umbrella term to cover many different infectious agents including virus, bacteria, and fungi, many of them not highly communicable. The actual reported confirmed cases of death caused by "common flu" is only part of this number and much less (~145/week death by flu from 2019 average). The currently reported cases of a weekly number of death by COVID-19 (over 9,000 reported death in less than 5 weeks, that's ~1,800/week death by COVID-19) is more than 10 times of death by common flu.
all the data are from here: National Center for Health Statistics Mortality Surveillance System
    and https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2019-2020/data/NCHSData13.csv

    Update 8 - 4/05/2020
For the last update, I said that NY may have hit their peak. Unfortunately, shortly after that post, NY's cases started marching back upwards. Due to that and the roll-over into April, I've made to changes to the graphs:
    • X-axis is now the day of the year (starting with March 5th) rather than date.
    • I'm now using a 3-day average rather than single-day numbers. This should smooth the messiness and reduce the chance of any downturns being flukes.
Having done that, the news is back to being all-bad. Both the U.S. and all State's I am tracking show us still in the exponential-ish growth phase of the pandemic in the U.S.

    recommended science article

    disguised link

Weird thing putting the realclearscience URL directly gave a priuschat database error. I do not know what that means. But if I chain the url to plain text, it works.

    Softwarez ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Some URLs go crazy. Do not paste in a Jalopnik URL, for instance. Use a link.

I had a thought. This use of the term 'epicenter' was not wrongly taken from earthquake research. Instead it is a shortening of epidemic center. Possibly sincere flattery, it still muddies the water a bit.

Maybe they thought about Demicenter and set it aside.

    Holey, as in permeable?

There might be a genetic test now, in place of blanket "not to collies".
