Have change my abs pump unit, according to the dealer that was the problem. Once chance the car has the same exact issues, when I slam on the brakes to see if the antilock brake system is working properly the front wheels lock. The lights on the dashboard abs vsc brake and (!) are on, I try to reset them using the paper clip method but no luck, also took the car to a friend of mine with a scanner but also couldn’t get it to reset and of course the anti lock brake system still doesn’t work and lights are study on. Any ideas of what could it be? Thank you so much for your time.

get tech stream diagnostic software from amazon, and a compatible laptop. then you can read the codes and sub codes, and use the service manual to troubleshoot

Thank you so much for the response the dealer did the diagnose and told me it was the abs pump, I change it but the brakes still lock when I slam on the brakes and the dash lights mentioned are still on.

i would have to say it is either a bad part, installation, or poor code reading

If you have heard of a "paper clip method" to reset codes, perhaps you've heard of a paper clip method to read the codes?

Then you would know what the trouble codes were, and you could tell us, and we could help.

On Monday I’ll do the paper clip blinking code method and I will let you know what comes up, the thing that has me going crazy is that when the dealer had the car and did the diagnostic they couldn’t get the lights to turn off, the brake light abs vsc and(!) it just didn’t reset, I figure it would reset and if the problem persisted they will come on again but they just won’t. Thank you so much for your time I’ll post what I find

Ah, I didn't see your earlier post. I'm attending a virtual conference right now but I can see about looking those up later.

The repair manual (more info) is where they are explained, if you prefer not to wait.

The one of those that I recognize is the 66 on the ECB light, which means the brake ECU would like to learn the linear solenoid offset of the actuator.

In Gen 3, there is a "when not using Techstream" chicken dance for doing that. I don't know if there is in Gen 2, have never seen it mentioned in a Gen 2 manual. The same procedure might work, and probably won't blow the car up anyway, but if it does you didn't hear that from me. (You'll notice the codes are different in Gen 3, as you read that post.)

If you want to be sure, do it with Techstream. Techstream would also show you what actual DTCs those other codes correspond to; saving you trying to search them up by the two-digit blink codes.

    Thanks for the update! (y)

Listening to what the car is telling you can often lead to simple fixes.

A followup on this thread concerning the few 'mystery' blink codes that can't be found in some editions of the Gen 2 manual (36 on ECB, 42 on ABS, 43 or 45 on VSC): more here.
