Yeah if you had the climate control turned on that could have done it as well.

Reading through here I can’t believe the interpretation of “LED conversion” means to replace housings. Yikes! Seriously? Why?

Because they came standard from Toyota on some models. That makes them 100% legal as well as you can be sure they will work well, and be reliable. Aftermarket bulbs/Chinese electronics can burn out quickly depending on quality. Quality can vary widely between production runs.

PS- every LED you’re installing was made in China.

The LEDs only draw 37W compared to 50w for the halogens. A/C was off.

The LEDs are rated at 37W compared to 50W for the halogens. I’ve never seen this behavior before. I also thought I heard the engine running and the display showed it was not...

Because the Koito-designed LED light housings use an upward-firing LED chip with a reflector bowl that properly concentrates the light, giving a nice hotspot just under the cutoff and excellent distance lighting. Drop-in LED replacement bulbs in halogen housings typically pour out a lot of foreground light, which makes the lights look very bright--certainly brighter than stock--but actually reduces distance visibility because the light is too diffused and the brightness immediately in front of the car increases the contrast between foreground and distance.

To the poster wondering about the lack of a pin: there are only 5 pins used in the 6-pin LED headlight connector.

I just did this upgrade last month. I bought a couple of 2015 Prius 5 led housings and drivers. I had to repair a couple of tabs (plastic weld) before the install too. When it was all done and leveled, the light output and cutoff line blew away the crap hid kit I had in there, and the stock halogens before that. They are almost as good my wife’s Prius Prime Advanced.

I eventually got the light installed but the v shaped light on the top is not working, just the main beam. What could be the problem here? I can take a picture if is not making sense. Any help would be appreciated

Because you don't have the wire connected for it?

this may be the case as the garage I got it done from did it on new years eve and they were in a hurry.

i imagine everything would have to be taken apart to correctly wire it up? Also is there a separate wire for the main beam , v shaped light and side light (full beam)? I just want to make sure the guys do it right. I imagine that the v shaped light comes installed in the unit and cannot be replaced so it is definitely a wiring issue.

There is a separate power wire for the side marker, v light, and low beam (LED). The low beam has its own ground. The side light and v light share a ground. The high beam connector is the same as halogen lights.

Oh okay thank you. I was wondering if the V light bulb could be out or if it was a fuse problem as only the V light is not working?

If you did a conversion then it is not wired properly. If the LED headlights came from the factory then the issue is in the headlight.

Mine was not a conversion. My old led headlight got busted so I replaced it with one I got from ebay. I got it fitted and since then all the lights work properly other than the V light. Not sure what is wrong :(

Maybe it is the light then. I would try swapping headlights side to side or, if your old broken headlight's V light still functions, plug it back it to eliminate the car's wiring as the problem.

Alright I think it may be a wiring issue. Can the V light bulb go out or is it fitted and non- changeable like the low beam in a LED headlight? I will send a picture of it later here on this thread

If the light in dim(weak?), you may have a bad ground connection.
The bulbs are replaceable, if that is what you mean.
If the plastic lens has yellowed or gotten dirty, you'll have to clean them.

    Hi Everyone,

I saw the posts above about which bulbs you can change and was slightly confused. I understand that the low beams cannot be changed but what about the rest? One of the V lights (not sure about their technical description sorry!) is not working. I have uploaded a photo to clarify. Is it possible to change the bulb in this?
