    Hello.

I just replaced the ABS control module in my 2007 Prius. I have done my best to bleed the coolant, and I still need to bleed the breaks.

but I went for a short test drive, all codes were deleted, and for a moment the dash was clear. Then C1269 and C1310 started appearing non stop, I would delete them and they would come right back.
Along with those codes the death triangle is coming on, VSC, and check engine. But those are the only two codes it is throwing.

Before I got the Prius the previous owner (retired mechanic) replaced the HV battery with a new one purchased through Advanced Auto.
I just replaced the 12v battery through Toyota.

is this trouble shooting I should/could do? Or should I just take it to a shop?
Very frustrating cause I just spent way over six hours getting the ABS control module in.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Nice work with replacing the ABS/accumulator. Which OBD2 device or code scanner are you using to read the codes (DTCs) ?

Many use a mini-vci cable and a copy of techstream to bleed the brakes, which will require a windows device that has a USB port. You can bleed the rear alone, but that requires a "prius rock". Bleeding the front may be possible if you remove the solenoids etc, but I'm not sure if that will purge the accumulator unit or not, always best to use techstream and do it by the book as per this link (Thanks! @Mendel Leisk ).

Whichever method you use, be sure to let the ABS accumulator rest between each purge, as you don't want burn up your hard work. Thought I read about newer versions of techstream lowering the duty cycle for the ABS accumulator during the bleeding sequence.

See what the local dealer(s) charge to bleed the system, and that should give you an idea on if you want to continue with the DIY options.

Here is the workup for DTC C1259 and C1310 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Repair%20Manual/04pruisr/05/21avn/cic12595.pdf

"Trouble shooting C1259 and C1310" is kind of a trick headline, because both of those codes are brake ECU codes that don't mean anything is wrong with the brakes. They only mean the brake ECU has been told by the Hybrid Vehicle ECU that there are trouble codes logged over there.

So the way you "troubleshoot" C1259 and C1310 is you go read the codes that actually matter, the ones in the HV ECU, and you troubleshoot those.

Sometimes when people are using a "generic" code reader, it will end up showing just the C1259 and C1310 (they are in the brake ECU, and generic readers have heard of cars having brakes), but not the codes in the HV ECU (generic reader: "in the what what?"), which is unfortunate, because those are the ones that will tell you what's up.

This is definitely worth persuingL if the dealership will do it, completely, guaranteed, for not too much, sometimes that's the route to go.

It's also definitely worth noting that these two codes do not indicate anything wrong with the braking system.

I am using a Innova 5510 to read the codes. It’s a decent scanner. But yes I was thinking I would just take it to a dealer to have the break system bled. Hopefully my short test drives didn’t cause any issues.

All the responses are very helpful. Just hoping I can get this thing running good.
