I had my hybrid battery replaced by GreenBean- it is warrantied. This was a bit over 2 months ago ( I have 316,000 miles on my 2010 Prius) now the “ check hybrid system” warnings, drop in power , come on. If I turn it off, restart, then it goes again- but the check engine light, warning triangle etc. still remain on. Green bean replaced that battery, did fine ( other fuel mixture issues now) , but now is showing the same issue - “ check hybrid system.” What the heck is going on ?

Depending on the code, it could be time to claim your warranty and hope it includes installation. You did not expect that repaired battery to last all the way through the warranty period, did you?

What happened to general consensus "check the 12v battery?"

...drop in power , come on. If I turn it off, restart, then it goes again- but the check engine light, warning triangle etc. still remain on.

Just to verify: is that the second Greanbean battery you're on now?

Also, that's an impressive amount of miles; have the intake manifold and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) circuit ever seen cleaning?

To bad you didn't get a new battery for $1600...... rebuilds are a waste of $$$ and reliability.

Ya but they don't last.....it's just a used battery. What if your out of town? They come to you?
How many time do you want your battery replaced? Why buy used when you can get new?

Liability would be on the gas saver.

They come to you as long as you are in an area with a location. You can not beat a lifetime warranty and most batteries are refurbished plus you can add value to your prius by selling it with a battery with a lifetime warranty since it is transferable.

So if you go to North Dakota they will come to your location and switch out another USED Battery?
I already played the battery game and didn't like it.
I bought a NEW Battery Delivered to my door for $1600 and it works perfect... not some ten year old battery that they got for free and could go out at anytime......anywhere.
I'm just posting this info in case someone is thinking about a USED Battery.... oh I guess refurbished sounds better.
I would pay more for a car that had a fairly recent NEW battery than one with a recent USED battery.

Check their site out and they may service that area. They are reconditioned, refurbished, previously used. Whatever you want to call them, the bus bars are upgraded to prevent corrosion and it has been balanced and did I say it has a lifetime warranty which includes the installation and reinstallation.

Even though it may have a lifetime warranty, you have to consider the down time of waiting for
them to get to your and replace it. Plus, where will you be when you get stranded? Do you have
tripple a? If not, how much will towing cost? It all depend on how important your time is.

You can when you can get a kit of new cells for the same or less price with arguably better reliability. Reliability is a basic functionality I insist on.

Would you rather tow your prius and go without or a rental and possible motel or would it be cool that they come to you and swap it out?

It's sad that a person asks for help here on this Prius site and all they get is shamed for not buying a new battery. By the same reasoning you should never buy a used car, house or anything else because it won't last as long as a new one. Some people have to get what they can pay for, some don't need the battery to last 10 years. I had a 2006 Prius with a reconditioned used battery installed by it's previous owner and it ran fine the whole 3 years I drove the car and still is now 2 years later. It only had a one year warranty. Sure, some will go bad but that's why you only pay less than one third the price of a new one.

Good luck on the old, used, guaranteed to fail battery.... and how long will they be in business.....?
Guess some people have to learn the hard way.
Price from the Grean Bean Website... 2010-2015 Toyota Prius Hybrid Battery | Green Bean Battery

$1649.00 is not 1/3 of $1600 delivered to your door for new battery pack. And I sold my old pack for $250.
Here is where I got a new one that works great.... $1600 delivered, new harness and bus bars.

I'm trying to help the guy not shame him...
