Re-charging refrigerant AC without starting compressor or engine

Call To a body Shop to perform air-conditioning Recharge after an accident and a Refrigerant line was replaced that was just dented severely.
Sometimes I get to the shops and somebody forgets to put coolant in the engine or inverter on a hybrid or electric vehicle. Or often the shop ran out of the correct coolant when I get there and I just have to perform and air-conditioning service without starting the engine or the Electric compressor’s it works fine every time something I have perfected over the decades.
I did not invent this procedure it has been around forever it’s something my dad taught me when I was 12.

 

If it is a brand new compressor in the box it should come with a full charge of oil for the complete an entire system after the system has been completely flushed drain of oil . Hopefully new expansion valve. Don’t take anybody word on anything read the instructions. And at this age I would highly recommend replace the condenser even if you did not have a burnt out compressor preferably made by DENSO

 

are you asking do you need to add oil when replacing a compressor?.

If it is a new DENSO compressor it should come with a instruction book what to do.

If it is a new compressor from Toyota it may not come with instructions.

Some compressors come from the factory with the complete amount of oil for and new install.

After a burn out compressor you would be replacing the condenser, expansion valve, Flushing all the hoses and lines and evaporator so you would be starting with no oil like a brand new install.
