2005 Prius, 138k miles, 12v battery replaced and hybrid battery was rebuilt and ecu replaced 2 years ago when we bought it. 30k miles since then. P0A80 popped up after my wife took it through a car wash (I believe it was in N, and popped on switching to D). Techstream frame attached, no sub code, but block 8 looks low.

Since then, I have driven it up and down big hills seeing the SOC bars go up and down in a normal way, driven it on the freeway a few times, but cannot get the code to trigger. I have also idled it and blasted the AC for a while, then driven it. My wife says she remembered seeing the triangle a few months ago but it went away, I figured it was due to low oil but could be wrong.

Does anything else look off besides block 8? I am getting ready to basically give the car to my brother in law but am weighing my options on what to do about the hybrid battery. I don't have the car right now, but tomorrow will try driving with tech-stream to verify block 8 looks off. Not sure if it could be the ecu, blocked fan, or bad 12v batt.

Not sure if I should risk paying to refurbish again, or sell it and tell my BOL to find another car. Car is also a rebuilt title, but everything else runs well, has also had the water pump and engine coolant pumps replaced.

All you need to do is replace both cell modules in block 8 and your battery will good again.

I am also reading other threads about how the battery doesn't charge in neutral through car washes, which is probably what triggered it. Any tips on making sure the modules match the rest of the pack?

You may get lucky and just have to replace one module like I did.
You will have to take off all the bus bars and test the voltages of each module. Write them down and hopefully the modules you order will arrive at the perfect voltage like mine did if not the system will balance them on its own.
