I have a 2008 model prius. With the 6cd stacker. My husband gave the car a clean on the weekend (just a vacuum and wiping the dust). Now everything works but navigator is unreadable. I can press the agree button to get to a map but that is from memory only. I cannot read a thing. It looks like shaky static. But I can tell that the screen has gone to map page. Everything else works perfect. If anyine has sny idea how to fix it please help.

    Thanks for the reply Bisco.

I tried it. Disconnected the 12v negative for 5 minutes. It did nothing. Still the same. Could a video cable inside have become dislodged. I have no idea where to start looking.

anything is possible, but when you say he just detailed it, is there any possibility a liquid got in there and he wasn't aware of it (or won't admit to?:p)

You never know lol. But then other things would have changed too. The navigator sound is working and buttons work. The display just got worse. I have no idea which cable to try to reconnect again incase I damage something pulling them out. The screen works perfectly unless it is on navigation mode.

iirc, the nav runs off an antenna, so there would be a cable for that. you might find it in the service manual

Have you checked everything is plugged in correctly to the navigation box that is under the LH (Aus passenger's) seat? Maybe a plug got dislodged when hubby vacuumed under the seat.

Hubby tried all the plugs except the big fat one which he could not pull out easily and I as scared to use too much force. I will go try again now. Thanks
