I have a 2009 prius base and i cant figure out what i need to fix, anyways heres what happend. I shorted out the 3rd brake light on accident whike working on upgrading the lights late at night, and now all brake related lights are lit up on the dash, i checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood and checked the relays under the hood. All seem fine, im suspecting it fried the brake ecu or something like that but im not sure. I already bought a new brake switch and tested it and its not the switch that went bad. Any helped is greatly appreciated, ill post a picture of the dashboard soon.

You can do the diagnostic yourself and save some time/money and the tow.

For reading OBD2 trouble codes (DTCs), pick up a 'mini-vci' cable and a copy of techstream (dealer tech level software), it will run on a windows device or you can emulate using Oracle VM VirtualBox

Next best OBD2 code reading option might be a OBD2 bluetooth/wifi adapter, then use an App like Dr Prius.
