The Prius (Prime) vs. The Harley

    Today I traveled 30 miles from Nebraska into Iowa. I had to kill some time so I stopped at a McDonald's for a chocolate milk shake. Then pulled into the parking lot of a hardware store next to the McDonald's to consume the milk shake. A big guy on a Harley drove past me. I noticed him giving me a second look. Then noticed him turn around and pull up beside me motioning to roll the window down. I thought, "Oh, boy, here we go".

    He said, "PRIME ?". I said yes. He then asked if it gets 25 miles on the battery. I thought OK he knows about Primes. I told him I get 38 in the summer time. He then told me he has one just like mine at home but it was a 2019. Mine is 2017. Same color and all. I guess he traded in a Cadillac for his Prime. He then started in how he has had Prii in the past and loves his Prime. He said all of his kids would drive prii when they got cars. I told him about PriusChat and how much info can be gotten here. We talked about 15 or 20 minutes.

    By the way, he said his Prime gets better mileage than his Harley.

    Why do I have to hear it from a mile away at 2 am when I'm trying to sleep?

    The quiet of the Prius beats the noise of a harley anytime, anywhere. Except on a racetrack. It's okay there.

    P.S. In case you can't tell, I like my peace and quiet.

    at time i do miss the exhaust sounds, but can't complain of the peace and quiet the prius makes.

    Does he know about the Livewire? (Although I guess most owners like the sound so a Livewire isn't really an alternative)

    We live about two block from a Harley Dealership. Most times we never hear them. What we do hear is the sport bikes going past at about 125 mph in 3rd gear at 2 AM.

    I had to look it up. Boy, it does not look anything like the classic Harley I know. But, the price tag... Yeah, that MSRP is higher than my PRIME LE.

    Don't forget to add $350 if you want Yellow Fuse gas tank. But, I wonder what's inside of that "gas tank"? :rolleyes:
