    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Looking at the posted picture, the 12v battery could be low(?). Best to use a voltmeter and measure it under the hood at the jump points.

DTC P0A80 and P3021 point towards a failed block in the HV battery assembly. You can do a search for any of your posted codes (DTCs).

You might also look into buying a 'mini-vci' cable to use with techstream, that will give you the same level of diagnostic software that the dealer offers. Your mechanics OBD2 scanner may not be fully hybrid compatible, as there is only one catalytic (P0420) for this vehicle.

Curious if someone may have stolen your catalytic converter from underneath the vehicle?

And here’s with the it on the voltage

I don’t think anyone has stolen my catalystic converter since my mechanic pulled the codes but I could be incorrect about this I mean the car was bought November Of 2008. Wouldn’t there be a code that’s it’s missing or not? Is the o2 sensor on the catalystic converter ?

It caused new codes or revealed codes that were there all along that you were not aware of? If you think it caused new codes, you may want to check the voltage on your 12V battery. In the process or running your diagnosis, you may have drained it.

Both of those values look quite low, check the date code on top of the 12v battery, and replace it if needed.

You should see a resting voltage well over 12v when OFF.

If you have a 12v "smart" charger rated at 3.5 amps, try recharging it before a costly replacement.

omg, the 12v battery is at 9.3 volts......................it's either been sitting idle for a few weeks and the battery has drained or the 12v battery has failed.

That should be number one on the list to correct. Charge it or replace it.

Then see what codes come back. If the car has been sitting unused for weeks, then the P0A80 and P3021 are likely to come back. It's pretty common for an original 2008 HV battery to have some self discharge problems with one or more of the 28 modules in the HV battery.

You may get lucky though. Get the 12v battery back in good condition (or replace if needed), then try to force charge the HV battery. The problem may clear up if it's just a weak module that self discharged but is not yet in failure mode.

No my cars fine. As soon as you move the scangauge to some hv sensors like 20 codes pop up. I contacted then and they sent a new cable that should work better and they know about the issue.

9.3v is pretty low. If his car is on but not carging them the headlights and screen will drop the voltage well before 12v but 9v is pretty far.

Scanguage is a aftermarket tool that plugs into the OB2 port. Sounds like you didnt use one :)

You can always jsut clean the codes and see how soon they return and if all the same codes return. Might help narrow things down. I love my scangauge since I can clear or read codes at anytime while driving but you can buy another scanner to read them yourself. Just buy the adaptor and techstream off amazon so you can do it all yourself.
