No - the motors are under the bonnet. Under the seat is the hybrid battery - and the fan is there to cool it down. Is the vent and filter inside on the fan clean?

Not sure. How do you check the vents? I tried opening them from the rear seats but the facing would not remove.
    Not

I had the same issue with my 2018 Prius this evening. I drove about 1/4 of a mile, stopped at a stop sign, i tried to push gas to accelerate and nothing happened. I turned the car off and done and tried again nothing, I was barley moving, after a few seconds I started to pick up speed but at the next stop sign the same thing happened. I was able to get it home, and after about 10 minutes I tried it again and it drove great! Have you had any issues since this your incident! It’s so weird. No lights came on at all.

I'm wondering if this could be the brake light switch, either faulty or not correctly adjusted, so the car thinks you've got your foot on the brake ?

    Im having same issue.
    Car has 110k on it.
Was surprised and thoughtt transmossion is slippery but later noticed its only after a complete stop when combustin engine is off.. happened about 5-10 times in a period of 2 weeks
So i thought its because of the weather here in vegas almost 120 degs every day.. maybe some computer went crazy but it happened after car rested for about 3 hours so engine wasnt really hot.
If it happens again i will shift to P and and run the rpm high untill engine kicks so to see if this happens too at that mode
It ok now for the whole month of setember. Hoping transmissin is ok.

Any new info on this issue?

Is it possible that Traction battery is overheated?

That safety recall, also described in Toyota’s press release, is only for third-generation Prius cars—and for Prius v, which is based on the third-generation design—not for fourth-generation models from 2016 and later.

I don’t know which model you have (there was no “Five” for 2017), but if it’s a One or Two (ZVW50) with the NiMH battery, the problem might be fixed by the software update announced in bulletin T-SB-0241-17 Rev1, “Reduced Power When Accelerating From a Stop” (PDF), also discussed in this PriusChat thread.
