did you do the third step of sliding the orange safety switch?

    can you connect an obd?

what voltage do you get at the front jump point?

13.2 with everything off? seems too high.

you're likely going to need tech stream

    13.2 volts is questionable.

Open the hood and measure the 12 volt dc voltage at the front jump point. Then with car off turn on the headlights in high beam. While lights on measure the 12 volt dc voltage at the front jump point again.

What’s that voltage with the lights on?

Some of the back story might be helpful.

What was the reason for changing the engine? What was the reason for changing the traction battery? What was the reason for changing the aux battery?

Changed engine due to owner getting it stuck and through a rod, changed batteries due to sitting for 2 and half years or more.

That's with the lights on? Ok that's pretty good that must be a brand new fully 100% charged 12 volt battery. That's the voltage a healthy 12 volt battery lives at in a Prius.

If it was me there at you house I would do this:

1----Make sure the orange safety interlock on the side of the hybrid battery is installed corectly. The lever is flipped up then the lever is slid straight down till it clicks.

2----Unplug the 12 volt battery power leads from the top of the positive post of the battery. Its the same as unbolting the negative lead only quicker easier and no sparking. Unplug wait a minute plug in again. This will clear the codes and boot the car. Try to start the car.

3----The car has thrown many many obd codes and will tell you why its unhappy. You need a Hybrid capable obd code reader. There's a few phone apps like Torque and there's a Dr Prius. There's a mini vci which has toyota techstream on it requires a laptop tand there's a VXDIAG on amazon thats works great that uses a laptop also. The VXDIAG has toyota techstream software easier to set up than mini vci. You can pick up up a XP burner laptop on Craigs list cheap. I have both the mini and the VXDIAG. Both will tell you exactly what the issue is.

4----If no code reader now Did you replace the hybrid battery yourself? Thats what starts the car and must be healthy. It provides 230 volts dc power to the inverter the inverter then turns it into high voltage 3 phase ac to spin up mg2 to spin up the engine. So take off the small inspection plate on the passenger side of the hybrid battery and measure the dc voltage at the battery side of the relay. Must be at least 210 volts dc to power mg2 to spin the engine up. What does that voltage read?
Carefully make sure the 2 orange leads that leave the battery relay and exit that battery box are nice and tight on the relay. I assume you installed the battery and understand the voltages and power at work there safety wise.

Lastly if none of these work you must get a code reader. i suspect you have hybrid battery failure of some sort or the replacement engine is not installed correctly and jammed or seized. Before you replaced the engine did you turn the crank to see if it was ok?
I would have pulled some plugs and turned the crank before installing it. Only thing left is the trans. Thats what starts the engine in a Prius.

I included pictures of the connectors to remove off the 12 volt battery power leads they just unclick and pull out. And picture of the hybrid battery interconnect. Measure the 2 orange leads on the right side of the picture the ones with the little red and black leads on them. Those little leadas are for my prolong charger. Yours wont have the big black lead either.

    Good luck.

Ok.....I’ll let the battery experts weigh in but that seems like it’s very close to be able to spin up mg2
    May be shy though.

You have the back apart do this one last test. See if the main relays the relay you measured the voltage on in the battery see if they are closing when you hit the start button.
When your in front pushing the start button and that battery inspection cover is off those 2 relays are really loud they make a very loud click click you can clearly hear up front. See if they click. They may click alot like close then open.
Before you attempt this reboot the 12 bolt battery by removing those connectors I told u about.

Your going to need a hybrid battery charger like a Prolong and a Prolong charging harness.
Your going to need a hybrid capable code reader.

Their clicking or not-clicking is usually due to the HV ECU's decisions about whether conditions are proper and safe to click them.

If the HV ECU is choosing not to, it will have trouble codes on offer that explain why.

Thanks for info guys, I will try to find a scan tool to check codes

That's not how Toyota put the battery together. The white plastic protective covers were originally installed on the battery side of the relays. The grounding strap is also upside down. I know it looks like it should go in the way you have it but that's not how it left the factory.

    Yeah I know

If you look closely you will see two black 6 gauge wires connected to the car side of the relay.
It raised the wire harness a little higher on the relay so I put the caps on them. I know it’s not right.

The wire is there for a 200 volt inverter. That never happened,

The ground strep works either way no? Next time I go in there I will remove that wire and fix that thanks.

yeah that’s what I was afraid of.

It’s probably a failed hybrid battery. If you booted the 12 volt battery that at least means it’s not a ground fault
In the battery but it’s something fatal.

Do you see the icon of a car in the upper left corner of the mfd? Not many folks would have done
What you have done to that car and not own a techstream obd device.

Buy a vxdiag for Toyota techstream on amazon overnight it. Needs a xp burner laptop you can buy
All day on Craig’s list for $25. I have one just for that device it’s a CHINESE hack so don’t load it anything you care about safety wise.
