Yes 4 quarts will do. Refill with the car raised and level. I've found a funnel with about 3 foot of hose (keep hose OD to around 5/8" max to ensure it'll fit in the fill hole with a little play) is very easy, especially if you've got an assistant to pour. Just go slow with the last quart. When fluid starts coming back out level is correct. Torque for both fill and drain bolts is 29 foot pounds. A 10mm male hex "socket" is need for both fill and drain bolts (they're socket-head-cap-screw style) Toyota recommends to only use Toyota ATF WS, from freshly opened bottles (don't save left-over).

I did a tranny fluid change at 30K miles and it was quite easy. Glad I did as I was surprised how dirty looking he original fluid was. As described, a hose and funnel for refill worked fine. Good tip about making sure you can get the fill plug loose BEFORE you drain the fluid.

I did one with 253K on the clock, and the color match the paint color of the car.. Winter Grey... But never tried to smell it tho.. LOL

Not sure, but my hunch: if you do an initial transaxle drain and fill around 10~20K miles, and then let it be till 200K, it wouldn’t be nearly as discoloured.
