Just published 20 min video from Toyota to their NE dealers about 2021 PP. Turns out Android Auto is only on the LE trim. $4K Toyota rebate in the NE. Video cuts out at 20 minutes but to me looks like there's more. If anyone can find the rest, pls let us know.

My only guess is that it's an amp issue. Instead of 12A like the PP, the Ionic may be at 8A. Smarter folks than I can chime in.

i can confirm this as i charge overnight at 8A and it takes about 8-9 hours for a full charge.

Hyundai's site says up to 9hrs, but that is worse case.

From the owner's manual, it appears the supplied EVSE has 4 amp settings; 6, 8, 10, and 12. There might be a way to set it from the touch screen. I got that from an Ioniq owner forum, and not the manual.

Reports are 4 to 6 hours with 110/120V at higher amperage. The pack is only a little larger than the Prime's, so charge time won't be much different.

Android Auto on LE only? Here I was thinking that 2021 would have checked all the boxes.

The hatch floor is flat, it's just raised. If they created extra space back there, I'd prefer a spare tire in any case.

I understand that it is the head unit. The LE gets AA because it uses the smaller screen head unit used in other Toyotas with AA. The larger screen head unit doesn't have AA.

Yes I figured. But, why does Toyota make you choose, AA or BSM and HUD in a 2021 vehicle, when 2015 Hyundais had both? They need to make it so you could get the Limited with the AA head unit.

in my mind, the higher packages should include everything in the lower packages

The 2021 PRIME is not out yet, so the $4K rebate must be for the 2020 model. But, I only see a $3500 rebate offer at Buyatoyota site both for NE and NY regions. I am not sure where this deal is. Yeah, when the 2021 model is out with a $4K rebate, I may be trading in my 2020 PRIME LE if I can make money by doing so.

It's not so much on the sales price of the new car. I know I can buy 2021 PRIME LE at around 18K after tax credit. The question is what trade-in I can get on my current 2020 PIRME LE with hardly no miles on it. Currently 1.5k miles 5 mo old. Also, in order to get the full tax credit, I have to wait until next year to make another purchase, so incentives and trade-in values will change in 6 mo.

if you have a carmax nearby, you could have them value it. it's the quickest and least effort way of getting some idea. then if the dealer offers less, you can use it as a bargaining chip or just sell it to carmax.

just curious, 18k out the door, or 18k + tax and license?

I used KBB instant offer for my last trade of 2017 PRIME Premium. My on-line offer was $18K, but I ended up $1500 less at a dealer. Could I have negotiated to get more? Sure, if I really wanted to bargain, I may be able to squeeze a few more bucks, but we may have ended up no-deal, who knows. In the end, I was happy with the numbers they offered which was almost no money trade for me, so it was a win-win transaction.

$18K is not out of the door. I have to recoup a $4502 tax credit later. So, it's more like ~$22.5K out of the door which includes tax and license and other fees. But for trade-in deals, the sales tax is only on the portion of the difference between the sales price of the new car and the trade-in value of the old car, so it was only a few hundred dollars for my transaction. This is one reason, trading in my 2017 PRIME even if at a lower price was most likely a better deal than trying to sell it at a higher price elsewhere like Carmax or on a private sale. License and registration fees are only ~$50 in my state.

Am I the only one that's annoyed that in an "official" Toyota dealer video, that the Prius shown during the comparison section is a regular Prius Liftback Limited, not a Prime?

Also, some slidesshow the 2020/2021 Prime, others show at 2017-2019 Prime.

That's the 15" alloys on the Prime from other parts of the world. It's also standard on the 2020 Prius FWD Technology on the Canadian model.

The 2021 Canadian Prime will get those wheels on the top "Upgrade with Technology Package" trim level. No idea if you guys will get it on the Prime Limited.

Hmmm. Toyota is so odd but maybe EPA-related? I know many have speculated about the wheel covers possibly helping meet MPG goals. Time to research shipping to the states lol. Thanks.
