Hello dear folks, i have next question and need some suggestions from you.

I have Prius V 2012- Trim Level Five (Without Advanced Tech Package, which is optional)

So what is my question/issue etc...

Car was without audio amplifier as it is not adv. package, front and rear speakers were aftermarket installed already in it (Infinity Reference 5x7 in front and Infinity Kappa 6/1-2 rear and some kind of aftermarket Twitters or Mid range speakers in dash. Old factory speakers were changed with those one.

    So what i did:

I have changed front speakers to (Rockford Fosgate 6x9 prime 3 way full range coaxial speakers)
    Specs:
    65 Watts RMS
    130 Watts Max

It became better, i have removed front dash speakers, because they were some kind low profile ones, i left rear speakers which are (Inifnity Kappa 75W RMS- 225 Peak + both is connected to passive crossover.

Two days ago i dismantled the interior of car (for deep cleaning) :)))
So i found this cables, [IMG]

This cables go directly towards Factory Stereo, i have not dismantled it yet, but it think this were used for aftermarket Amplifier with Hi-Level Inputs (Rockford fosgate have such inputs on AMPS)

So i have next questions: What is Factory Radio RMS Power-Max Power?

What kind of Amp you Suggest for this kind of Speakers which i have written?

I have feeling that this 4 speakers (Total 280 RMS-Max Peak 710) does not do even their half on this factory stock stereo.

I would stay with a line level amp and those connectors are probably tied into the speaker lines. But it may be necessary to pull the head unit to verify. They don't look like enough wires for front and back unless there are separate aftermarket cables elsewhere. Its possible someone just amplified the rear which are known for weak factory output. Or tapped the front for amplification to the back.

The attached file shows how to pull the unit.

I meant to say stay with speaker level inputs, not line level. Attached may be the wiring. First two pages.

Definitely something has been done here.....as i mentioned two pair of cables (front +- and rear +-) are connected to stereo cables, not directly but with some kind of modification to hear music from stereo even without amp.....i think i should show it to professional.

An audio guy would easily figure it out. My guess is someone cut eight speaker wires at those splices and took the head unit side of each color to his amp and then brought the new amps output back to the speaker side of each color. When they sold the car they pulled their amp and simply spliced the original wires back together so that the head unit worked like factory. Or they could have used those splices to add a wire to each line which then went to an amp which was separately wired to new speakers. Its hard to actually see the wire end of those splices. Crutchfield recommends a max of 35 amp draw system.
