US has slightly more fatalities per million than Sweden (583 vs 578) and more than double cases per million (19500 vs 8400). No catching up need be done. Both differences will widen.

I replayed the relevant section of that documentary and learned that, yes, Sweden still has public schools: my aging brain had misremembered. But overall that documentary shows Sweden as not "socialist."

According to @tochatihu link, their economy is worse off than Denmark's, who had one of the harshest shut downs.
They are more socialist than the US, where many conflate socialism with communism.
A capitalist based economy and socialist policies can coexist.

On an absolute scale, sure, they are not very socialist.

But compared to the U.S., they are situated much more in that direction. They do have much higher personal taxes, funding universal 'free' medical care, higher education, eldercare, and many other benefits and services and policies that are regularly derided as socialist in the American political landscape, even in this current election cycle. Lacking a similar degree of support services, I have no confidence at all that the U.S. could pull off Sweden's covid-19 course anywhere near as "well" as they have.

alot of overhype: the mask nazi karen's , the test (DNA swab shoved up your nostrils) - just about everybody has coronavirus - if u had a flu shot in the last decade or had a corona sickness in childhood - will blow the test positive, the 'promised one' (vaccine that will likely give u alot more than u bargained for), this is a great excuse for governments to crackdown with massive tyranny, like what is being seen in New Zealand and Austrailia nand of course China ...

We've both had flu shots every year for the past many years, and our two COVID-19 tests each have all come back negative.

ya, the large gatherings are baffling. i know everyone is bored, but at least wear a mask. it isn't that difficult.

oh well, it is what it is as a famous coach always says. we're just innocent bystanders.

You can even get masks that are themed so you can support your favorite football team:).

One thing that has stopped by the MAGA folks out here at least is the joke of "happy Halloween".

I watched a guy wear 6 surgical masks with an O2 monitor on and his oxygen level didn't drop a percent;).

If you can't or won't wear a mask, stay home(y).

I'm sure there are ways to obtain masks;).

I've seen some businesses up here have them available:).

I'm sure they are savvy in your neck of the woods in obtaining things and stuff(y).
