    Hello everyone!

    I have a 2006 Toyota Prius with 225,000 miles.

When it hit around 162k miles one day all the dash lights lit up and I got the triangle of doom.

Took it to my local shop and found out hybrid battery bank was failing from codes. Read warranty on bank, 165k, took to dealer and they replace the battery bank for free :)!

Now its 5 years and 60k miles later and I am getting the same alert on battery bank failing. Does anyone know what the warranty is for a replaced battery from a Toyota dealer? I'm having trouble finding this (or my search is not correct)

Any information that can be provided would be invaluable!

    RF

Can you provide the new diagnosis codes? It's pretty unusual for a factory replacement battery to fail in 5 years. Perhaps there's another problem?

I agree with TMR-JWAP, there are at least a hundred different problems that that combination of lights could be. At 5 years, I would not immediately suspect the HV battery, but something else. Please, if you can get the codes read (by someone with a pro-level reader) and report them here, we can advise the next steps.

Unless they got one of the short lived Toyota sold refurbished packs.

I'm really surprised you got a FREE replacement at 165k miles on a 2006. The warranty is 150k miles.

There may be issues with some batteries as I have a 2014 battery pack that has failed recently. But I agree to check the codes and make sure it's the battery. It's very rare to have a failure of the original batteries before the 8 year mark.

If the problem is the battery, there wouldn't be any warranty left on it. The warranty would usually be the remainder of your 10 year/150k miles warranty on the car.
