So today my touch screen displayed an Information page that showed battery and said contact my Toyota dealer for maintenance. I recently replaced the battery and was told it should several more years and also no lights came on on the dashboard.

There's a maintenance reminder feature you can use via the touch screen. I have mine set to remind me about filter changes and tire rotations. You can set up your preferred period of time or miles. That's all it is. If you don't remember setting up that reminder, a previous owner or a dealer might have. (Maybe somebody set a battery reminder for so many years, and then you needed a battery and had it replaced, and nobody checked for the reminder and reset it.)

Nope. It means somebody went to the maintenance reminder screen, x miles ago or y days ago, and set "please pop up a battery reminder after x miles (or y days)".
