That’s for Toyota employees and family.

Anything under $10k for a $50K plus car after 3 years is serious depreciation.

Majority are going for $18k to $20k on a 3 year old vehicle. Remember almost all are lease returns. So not a problem for the initial trailblazers.

    Cars.com has 2016's and 2017's for $11,000 to $15,000.

It's a problem for the leasing company, and Toyota did make a big deal about actually selling the car vs a lease only.

Not CPO’s. Toyota is willing to lose money to make Hydrogen vehicle common place. Most did not buy but leased their vehicles. The cool part is there is a high percentage of owners coming off a lease and buy a CPO vehicle or waiting for the 2021 model that will have 400 mile range, rear wheel drive and look more Lexus like.

Why do you continue to post information that is not true? Many Miria owners buy or lease another after their first lease. Fueling is done in less than 5 minutes. Many new pumps are being installed that are just as reliable and easy to use as pumping gas. Miria has proven to be extremely reliable and costs to maintain are low. These cars are on par with the first Lexus LS400. That being over engineered and basically hand built by only a 13
Member team, producing 3 cars per day. Fuel is not that expensive no more than to fill up any other luxury car with 91 octane. As prices drop for hydrogen in the coming years it will be very affordable for most. With over 10k Mirai sold
around the world, have you heard any bad about the car? No just the lack of fueling infrastructure, which is growing. So it may not be for everyone just as the Tesla is not for everyone. Let’s keep it real and not spread false information.

i guess - if giving a couple/few thousand cars on the road makes something commonplace .... then I guess that term works for some.
This is not an attack on the choice that Meraki users make. If one's individual decision works for them, hey, congratulations.

Gotta remember California and Hawaii are the only markets currently for the Mirai in the USA, with only a few dealers.

Lexus tends to have a bigger ugly black grille than Toyotas. One reason I bought the Gen 4 was because that "feature" is missing.

I have owned mostly Toyotas since my first 1969 Corolla but I do not think my next car will be a Toyota. They have gone too far down the ugly path compared to other brands. Incidentally, my wife agrees. We currently have a 2000 Tundra pickup & 2008 corolla in addition to the Prius.

With the numbers of Mirai sold, the majority are hydrogen faithful and early adopters. Or they are government agencies being ordered by politicians. Were 50 cars really needed to test the technology in Quebec?

California governments get a deal on Toyota Mirais for fleets | Autoblog

So Toyota defines mass produced as hand built.

The cheapest source of hydrogen is reforming natural gas without CO2 sequestering. As long as drilling companies have an excess of natural gas, renewables will always cost more. Even lowering the cost of renewables doesn't address the cost to transport and compress the hydrogen.

A 5 series BMW with AWD costs $3.25 to go 25 miles on premium in California today. At $16.51 a kg, it costs $6.25 for a Mirai.

Haven't heard much good about the Mirai either. It seats four with the performance of a Camry. It is over $18,000 more than comparable Lexus models. Will the 2012 Mirai still need a safety waiver for sale in the US?

Because other states are unwilling to spend their tax dollars on infrastructure.

Lexus grills are a work of art. So much detail to them. One needs to sit back and admire like going to a museum and stare at art on the wall. I personally won’t look at anything but Toyota or Lexus. I have owned close to 30 cars, and nothing compares to Toyota for quality.

Hydrogen faithfull or early adopters? What else could they be? Many are repeat buyer or have more than one Mirai.

3 cars per day is not mass produced. Watch on YouTube how the Mirai is built. It is hand built by one team as the car stays in one spot. The $58k price tag for such a car is a bargain.

Nothing truly bad has been said about the Mirai if your gonna compare to Tesla construction issues.

World countries are investing into Hydrogen development.

so this is what's in the museums .... more "art"

    yea . . . perhaps we're being too harsh - on "art"

How many put a deposit down on the original design and then Tesla says it needs to be smaller and less crazy looking. Bait and switch.

When your customer base is enthusiasts, their releasing a car doesn't say the same thing as the Camry customer base going back for another.
I didn't say it. Toyota did.
"the Toyota Mirai, one of the world’s first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles" -
Hydrogen is Going the Distance: Toyota Surpasses 3,000 Mirai Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Sales in California - Toyota USA Newsroom
Also stated elsewhere, The Toyota Mirai rewarded by society

Until a thousand Mirai are made a day at a factory, I'm not going to make the comparison.

And countries have invested into weapon development. Just because a country spends money on something, that doesn't make that something right or a guaranteed success.

China ended the FCEV subsidies, and is redoing hydrogen project funding because they realized the money they spent wasn't helping in getting the cost of cars and infrastructure down, nor increase their penetration into the market.

Tesla didn't have a form online that anyone could fill out, like me using my dog's name, and then use that list of entries as evidence of interest in a car model that could only be sold in one state.
