It's been raining here at least a couple times a week recently and after each rainfall whenever I'd open up the trunk a bunch of water would pour out of the trunk latch area (circled in blue). Didnt think much of it and thought the water was all running towards the outside. However, I opened up the floorboard today and found a huge puddle of water which also destroyed all the foam that was there. Any ideas of how to troubleshoot? I don't see any blockage and no debris or leaves stuck in any areas.

Yuck!! I think I'd start by removing the plastic panels inside the lift gate. It might be coming in via either the garnish (the piece that has the release button) or the license plate area. Removing the interior panel will let you see the backside and any traces that might be visible.

Good idea. But I think there's a better chance of seeing the leak if you take off the plastic inside panels so you can see the car's skin from the inside, so to speak. It just pops off on previous generations. I imagine that Gen 4 is similar. You might look for a Youtube video.

Will give that a try also. On a side note, is there any con to removing the foam parts that hold the jack and tire repair kit? They were destroyed from the water anyway so I just threw them out and put a spare tire in the space. The floorboard is a bit uneven but I have an all weather liner on top that helps.

Not particularly, but you'll want something to support the cargo deck. Someone recently posted pictures of a frame he welded up to do just that, but I can't remember right now who it was. Also, I think that those foam parts reduce road noise.

I have the all weather liner mat on top of the cargo liner. Just came back from a trip where I loaded a bunch of stuff on top of the uneven cargo deck and thankfully didn’t notice any issues. I definitely do think that I should put something back there to support it but can’t find anything easily accessible.

@jdenenberg mentioned in August that he had the foam insert for the spare available. If he still has it and you're interested, maybe you guys could arrange something. (See post #10 here. How to remove the Styrofoam compartments for tire repair kit (Prius Camping) | PriusChat)

I just had noticed that @jyii07 is in NYC, so thought it might not be an insurmountable distance compared to what most of us would need to travel. ;)

Ah, see that you're in Trumbell, CT? looks like thats around 1.5 hours from where I am... do you have any idea how much shipping would be? I'd obviously be happy to pay for shipping and however much you're willing to sell the parts for.

@jerrymildred , appreciate the post and for pinging JeffD. Thanks very much.

If the foam insert deal doesn't go through, I'd be interested in the parts--want to get a spare into my 2019, which only came with the goop and the compressor.

we could meet halfway (White Plains?) and avoid the shipping issue. I have the central foam insert and the tire tie down screw (not the bracket that needs to be in the spare tire depression). My significant other puts the price at about $50. I also have some of the rubber mats from Toyota, Front (both sides) and Hatch.

As did my 2020 AWD-e, but my spare tire well contains the power electronics for the rear axle motor so the parts that I salvaged from my totaled 2016 Prius 3 will not work for me.

@jyii07 Are you still interested? If not I'll offer the foam insert to @pjksr02

Thanks @jerrymildred.. tried that but was getting the below error. However, I see that I already started a convo with jdeneberg back in September on the same spare tire inserts :). I just responded in that convo again.
