Rubber roof moldings-remove, clean, secure

    Hello everyone,
    2013 Prius c one- I bought it used in 2017.
    Rubber roof moldings are loose, a ton of gunk is caught under the ends where the clips are.
    All they seem to do is to catch dirt, are impossible to clean under and get blown out when I go through the car wash.

    I want to remove them completely, clean the whole area, replace the moldings and glue them down along the entire length.
    The hardest part seems to be removing them, I can't figure out how he end clips work.

    Is any of this feasible?
    I'm moderately handy, but tend to be overly cautious when doing repairs around the house. My motto is: "Don't tug too hard. You may never get it back right."

    Thanks for any advice.
    And if this is a really bad idea, or I should take it to a professional, please don't hesitate to say so.

    Lift up in the middle, run your fingers along the underside towards one of the ends and give it a slight "push". I had the same issue, and even had them replaced. Yet the problem still re-appeared. As a fix on my own, I bought a small jar of rubber cement and the issue hasn't returned.

    If you use my fix above. Do yourself a favor and install / re-install a couple of times so that you feel comfortable on how to re-attach it. Also, use the rubber cement only a fe inches at a time - the stuff dries really fast. Ask me how I know! lol

    This is what I was hoping for.
    Thank you for your detail and your candor. There are lots of pitfalls and rewards to DIY projects and I appreciate your reply.
