    hi guys,

Today I went in my mini cooper S to a big garage seller. And i wanted to trade my red mini cooper s r53 in for an zilver 06 prius with low miles. ( the mini likes fuel....)

The test drive went wel, drove good also on ev mode very wel no problems etc... until... i decided to park the car on the side of the road and turn it of just to inspect the car more also look under the car.

After I was done, i wanted to start te car, but the parking brake button stayed on and the start button went orange and light where lighting on the schreen. it did not wanted to move at al. also i depresed foot brake and pressed nothing stil parking brake light and no move...

I also noticed that the battery bars on the screen where all gone... and the car did not wanted to start nothing...

What can this be de 12v battery? before no triangle of death or lights etc

Could be the 12 V. Easy enough to check that.
But the "battery bar" display is for the HV hybrid battery.

Yes. It has been discussed maybe a thousand times in threads on here before.

It is possible to have enough power to "turn on" all the systems but not enough to allow them to run right.

While it might not be the likely cause of your problem, it is foolish to overlook it.

Sorry if a little OT, but I did what you did. I went from an 06 r53 MCS to an 05 (yes silver) Prius.

Not sure if yours was a 6 speed as well but I was impressed at the 37mpg plus I was getting on Country roads especially considering that 5th and 6th gear were not overdrives, it had to turn a supercharger constantly, and the aerodynamics were poor. The handling was exceptional and it was so roomy inside especially based it just being a "mini".

Fuel economy was not the reason I sold the mini.

I got rid if it due to it being a pain to work on it and always having to work on it. My wife also did not want to learn to drive stick.

If you have an auto I digress.

Hi Nope its an 6 speed 170 bph last year of the gen 1 2006 here in Holland Nederlands. has 220 000 kms and the chain was replaced before i bought the car and i drove like 5000 kms in like 3 months but the fuel economy ys verry bad. the Mini want you to drive sporty and does not like eco drive low rpm... Before the mini i had an toyota starlet 1.3 1998 in silver love that car but some idiot drove into me and that car whas tottaled. that was a n fuel efficient car

Yes, the other thing with that mini was the small tank and the need for premium fuel. I tried it on E15 instead of 93 octane and it pinged. I could get away with that on my much faster Forester XT which surprised me a bit. The mini did like to be driven hard even though it wasn't that quick....and that stupid rust at the taillight. Great supportive community like this one but there was no cheap way out of issues when you needed it. I hated taking off the front bumper cover to do each repair. 20 somethings thought it was cool. Not me!
