Had a little extra cash this month, so I have this on the way from rakuten. I had the i-shifter, and the extend/retract motor quit. The i-shifter was noted as used when I got it, and it was the version one, continuous rotation. This one is new in the package, so it shouldn’t give me any issues.

I made my own splash shield today. I even cut out the “flap” to make it removable without pulling the whole thing. 26 gauge sheet metal and 16 pop rivets. The tie is on both sides of both panels. I drilled the holes for the pins a little bigger to give some play. Maybe 3x heavier weight then original. I may have to get some rivet nuts to use as fasteners.

Why did you make this instead of getting a new one?
You had extra sheet metal around?

    Just curious... :)

I am in the process of lifting nine and putting bigger AT tires. Also I think this is my first post. Glad to be here. 2A7B5CB5-4144-42AA-AEE0-3DE8F742047F.jpg

I had the sheet metal laying around. And I have put three of the “aftermarket” CAPA cert panels on it since I got the car. They keep splitting around the rivet holes.

Thru my employer, I can get the CAPA copies for roughly 20% of the cost of the OE. But it’s still money lost if I have to replace it. Not anymore. LoL

I just bought a 2012 and taking it apart to replace the heater hoses and all other related ones as well. About to pull out the EGR system to dunk it in some simple green or purple power.

Where did you order the brace? I can’t seem to find it.

Here is the installed smart position switch, as the vendor calls it. Shipping company picked it up 7:12 pm Sunday night Tokyo time. Dropped off at my house 1255pm CST this afternoon. The white light is my dusk to dawn light. I do not have the illumination wire tied in, and I don’t think I’ll need it.

Not sure which brace your inquiring on, but Hybridpit carries all Cusco braces as well as Tom’s.

Had to replace a rear hub assembly today. Straight forward repair except the harness plug in got damaged. Toyota put this crazy box over the actual connector, and my gorilla strength pulled the wires out. Luckily it was early enough in the day my local dealer can still have it tomorrow.

If you have a sensor disconnected the brakes are very “different”, in addition to the multiple lights on the dash. Little to no regen braking and the pedal effort is strange. It’s a 10 minute repair to put the harness back on though.

Mine had a yellow kinda cover you had to remove, so you could remove the connector.
Then routing the thin wires. WAY over engineered!

You'll get the abs light, the skidding car icon, and nope, no regen or electric brakes!
You are stopping by the front brakes only.
    And no cruise control.

It was a lot easier the 2nd time I did them, because I knew what to do. :)

I replaced the front bearing today. The cheapo trq one wore out at 8000 miles.
The 2nd replacement! Glad I put antiseize on it! Easy and quick to replace.
I was going to get the Timken bearings, but autozone didn't have them, so I had to
get the Moog. Smooth movement, and you can see the grease!
I'm just hoping they aren't ones made in china. Nothing on the hubs or box's says where they are made.

It’s funny that you mentioned Autozone. I work at a “hub” store, which is supposed to have a higher inventory level then the “satellite” store, as the lower tier stores are called. My hub store doesn’t even have a stocking level on the lower priced line, and I had to go to the satellite store 3 miles away. I hope that I don’t have to do that side again.
