Prius Prime Roof Rack & Cargo Box Combo that WORKS!

Just thought I’d post the little mod to the oem bars.

 

that looks good! Any wind noise at all?

I'm debating on picking up an oem roof bars since a local dealership has them for a good deal and i will most likely wrap em in semi-gloss or matte black.

 

I actually haven't driven the car since installing them but I will be today. From what ive read though everyone has the same experiences. No noise till about 40ish MPH but once the fairing is on you're good till about 80ish mph without any noise. I personally do a lot of city driving so I don't see it affecting me that much.

 

Quick update. Minor wind noise at around 60mph, nothing the radio can’t get rid of.

 

Could always use a cargo case from Pelican such as the BX90R (roof mount is separate). Or depending on the roof rack, modify an affordable gun/rifle case. Can’t post link yet but search on the website trail4runner for a gun case cargo box recovery gear.

 

Here is my set up! Yakima Grand Touring Cargo Box and Yakima Fairing.

 

I bought a Thule rack with a fork mount to put 3 bikes. Before of the width of the handle bars, I have to put one in the opposite direction.
