I tried that, turns out it takes a lot of practice, the drogue can really scratch up your grill before you get good at it.

Mikhail, People here are nervous about the thought of carrying around a big lightly secured can of explosive liquid. I can understand that. The proper way to do it would be to find someplace on the underside of the vehicle to add a second tank, plumb it in securely. I don't know if you could borrow pressure from the first tank to pressurize the second. I don't know if such a space exists or not on your car. The only other place that come to mind is to build a tank into the bottom of the trunk. You would still have the question of how to seal it off from the interior of the car.

It was more of an idea, at the end of the day.
I opted for the roof cargo and a extra gallon of gas in case I need it.

Just finished a trip and averaged 35mpg. So you can see where my 10 gallons of gas gets me.

35 mpg? Were you driving in charge mode?

    No, haha.

I had a sportrack cargo carrier. See pic
I've since switched to a Thule and I'm getting about 40-45.

I had a full car, two dogs, and a full cargo carrier.

Good numbers for heavy-hauling in a Prius. Nice pictures, thanks!

Friend had a pinto, I had a maverick. I do remember something about a corsair.

The son of the owner of the body shop I worked at put a corsair engine in a beetle, had to extend the engine cover, but it was a body shop.

A neighbor down the street put a 327 in an austin healey 3000, but that was before the toaster police were even a twinkle in eye of the general public. EVgo Limiting our Rights | PriusChat

Engine swaps are a real hoot; used to toy around with VW/Porsche integrations. Here's a fiberglass Benz replica I did many moons ago:

Yup, that was one of my first thoughts. I’m glad the OP decided against doing that.

Ouch. Thanks for the feedback on rooftop boxes.

My VW Sportwagen has ~180hp/tq 1.8T and gets 33-34 mpg with a (16 cu ft Yakima) box on top, at 70+ mph.
Without the box, it holds about as much as the Prime + a box and gets 38-40 mpg.

Looks like we've been right to take the Prime when everything fits inside and the wagon when more space is needed.
